5.0 out of 5 starsIntriguing & Fascinating Love Story
Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2019
Kate and Walker start out as a one and done, at least as far as Walker is concerned. For Kate it meant more, but with her track record she’s not too surprised she never hears from him again. Nor does she want to when he unexpectedly drops back into her life. This is quite a unique and fascinating love story. There’s so much going on it’s hard to believe they’re destined for a HEA. Their romance is a bit of an emotional roller coaster with its ups and downs and twists and turns. The chemistry is off the charts, and although you’d think their personalities would clash, you find they fit very well together. It’s a delightful story that will tug at your heartstrings, make you smile, and often wonder what can possibly happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed this highly entertaining tale.
5.0 out of 5 starsHe’s met his match....(excellent!)

Each story starts with a bang and the momentum doesn’t slow down. I fell in love with these two main characters, especially Kate. Her quirky sassiness was sometimes hilarious. She’s intelligent, stubborn and smart and keeps Walker on his toes. Walker comes across as an arrogant jerk sometimes but Kate holds his interest like no other. She drives him crazy and makes him wanna hurt anyone who tries to mess with her. It was pretty great.
#1-ONE NIGHT Very fast paced yet nicely conveyed with gripping detail. Kate Sikes has one heckuva first date from hell that concludes with a murder and meeting Detective Walker Pruett. Hang onto your seat.
#2-EDGE OF NIGHT After a great night of sex, Walker has ghosted Kate. (He’s known for no commitment). Hit and run, is his motto. No strings, no attachments. He’s a jerk. Forgetting where she works, he strolls back into Kate’s life after a month of silence, investigating suspicious robberies at her place of employment. But Kate waits for no man. She doesn’t chase, brood or grovel when a man ignores her for a month....(not!). This was another supercharged, fast paced suspenseful mystery...with well-placed romantic overtures.
#3-LAST NIGHT- Kate’s got his number and doesn’t put up with much...which tends to leave Walker speechless sometimes. This final story conveyed deep emotion and showed the profound love and endurance between Kate and Walker, through all their ups and downs. A nice conclusion....but I wanted more.
This collection is a trilogy of the romance between Kate and Walker. I started out by reading 'One Night' and had my curiosity peeked. In 'One Night' we meet Kate, a single woman with a history of bad dates. When her most recent date ends in her almost being murdered, we meet Detective Walker. He is assigned to her case, and the chemistry between the two is amazing. As the story progresses, so does their relationship. 'One Night' has humor, romance, mystery and suspense but ends a little abruptly causing me to purchase 'Kate & Walker: The Collection'. In the second book of the collection, 'Edge of Night', Walker is again working with Kate in solving the robberies taking place at the hotel that she is employed. Walker had not seen Kate and had avoided her since having hot 🔥 sex and then dropping her off at home. Walker never figured himself out as the type of man to ever settle down but with Kate he wants more. As the case of the robberies unfolds, Kate finds herself being unemployed and pursued by Walker. In the final book of the collection, 'Last Night', Walker and Kate fight for their love and relationship. They overcome major obstacles and realize what's important to each other. This is a great and satisfy collection and I am so pleased that I purchased it. This collection leaves the reader with a hard earned HEA.

Kate and Walker is a set of three romantic suspense novels. Kate is a hotel clerk and Walker is a police detective. He keeps rescuing her from situations which results in an on and off relationship that turns into a touching romance. There is some humor also. I definitely recommend this series.

This trilogy centers around Kate Sikes and Detective Walker. Kate, a single professional woman, has been doing some online dating . Each date going from bad to worse. When the latest one almost gets her killed, she meets Detective Walker Pruett who comes to her rescue. The story is at times funny, with some suspense and whodunit, and sexy. There was some questionable work ethics on Walker’s part. BOOK 2 EDGE OF NIGHT Book one introduced us to Detective Walker Pruit and hotel assistant manager Kate Sikes and the crazy way they met. In this story, a shaky relation begins to blossom. But this new relation is something neither expected and very confusing for Walker, who never thought he would get serious with a woman. When Kate gets involved in an investigation, things get out of control. Will they be able to handle to aftermath or will they each go their separate ways? This story is filled with whodunit, good and bad guys, and of course romance. BOK 3 LAST NIGHT in depth characterization of Kate and Walker both as a couple and as individuals with a past , present and a future. Walker has proposed to Kate. Some think it’s too fast but they are sure of themselves , until an unexpected surprise makes Kate question if she is doing the right thing, and Walker has to face someone from his past. Will they find their happiness together, or will they give up on the possibilities of being together? Good storyline with real life circumstances. Life is full of ups and downs, and how we react will determine our future and happiness. A good ending to this series. For those that are familiar with this author, this one was quite different than other stories I have read/listened by this author and one I would not have guessed was written by her. A nice change and very entertaining.
