At least there is now one other person that is allowed to have valid opinions and MC actually pretends to try to be a part of a group. But of course it’s all in the hopes of being put in a situation to commit new atrocities. Still fun, still sort of sickening. You read the first two to you know what up. I’m sort of sad that it ended the way it did but there is no way around that really and in the end I’ll likely still read the next one
Spoiler...... / / / / / / This MC becomes a MASS MURDERER and the reader is supposed to support him now? He torchered and killed 4 men in Jail without even checking to see if they were guilty (which it would take his sin system 1 second to verify,) just to TEST a way to keep others from having his sword. By the end of the book he kills an entire planet of Men, women and CHILDREN- A planet at any time contains BILLIONS of BABIES and small CHILDREN, and because someone from that planet knocked his wife unconscious, he blows it up? What the Actual Hell??? Talk about being over powered. I hated that the MC was turned so totally evil, absolutely no redeeming quality... he doesn't have to work for anything, everything is given to him in this world and all he does it take the lives of babies to get more power and become a "Demon", like its something to aspire to. What the hell man, who wrote this book? The Devil?
More OP than the previous books. Not sure what the next book will bring. I really enjoyed John and Sarah's sect tournament. I wasn't expecting the end of this one. The gaming interface in the wuxia world has worked out pretty well. John reaches new highs in his kill count and definitely has some anger issues. That got disturbing. I binged the books in a 24 hour span.
While the story is still pretty slice of life, now that the main character (MC) has someone like him, from earth and with her own unique system, it’s more interesting. The story takes on a buddy aspect which is a nice break from all the solo adventures. It also gives a chance for dialogue and romance. There are definitely some points in the new characters backstory that feel forced just to justify her place in the immortal universe but it doesn't ruin things.
The novel still has the same Idle System leveling stuff from the previous books and there are lots of new abilities, skills, and powers that come into play and train. Oh, a little bit of crafting too.
This book is great! I devour LitRPG and sometimes the commonalities get a bit tedious. This book however is plenty unique! I always enjoy a character who gains great strength but still struggles to accomplish his/her goals. I regret finishing this trilogy in three days because now I have to wait for the fourth. On that note, I loved the setup the ending left for the fourth book. Thanks for writing this!!
I really liked the first two books. This installment moved away from the idle system and from the feel of the story in books one and two. It is significantly more touchy feely. Wasn't what I was expecting. Even with the mood change, I was enjoying the plot. Until the last big twist. Not the one at the end. The whole coma thing isn't in line with the abilities from the idle system. Supposedly, removes all status effects. Except not this one. Bad logic error. Almost PEBKAC levels. Wait it is that level, sorry.
If you're going to have rules, stick to them. Don't ignore them when convenient for the plot. It seriously undermines the validity of your story.
