5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!! What a ferocious female reporter!!

There are not enough words to describe how great this book is! The plot was genius and kept the reader totally engrossed in the book until the end. Nichelle Clark is a tenuous and determined crime reporter for The Telegraph. She starts off by covering two crimes of drug dealers that were killed execution style. But the clues keep going on in all kinds of directions. People are following her, as she gets closer to what she thinks will break the story. She eventually finds herself in grave danger. The character development was superb. If you like fast paced, constant thrills and corruption at the highest levels, this book is definitely one to read!! Can’t wait to read the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is definitely a fast moving book with ins and outs that will keep you guessing until the end!

I purchased this book on a whim--yes, I occasionally do that. But it isn't the covers that grab me--it is usually after reading the blurb. Am I ever glad I took a chance. I read this one in one sitting--I simply could not stop until the end.

Nicelle Clarke is a reporter who can't let go of anything. The problem was there were a couple of different crimes going on that she was reporting on--she had a gut feeling they were somehow connected--but the puzzle pieces just would not come together in her head. She kept digging----and what she dug up---well. At one point she trusted no one and I can't say I blame her!

Does Nicelle come out alive? Who were the bad guys and who was trying to keep her safe?

This is definitely a fast moving book with ins and outs that will keep you guessing until the end!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nichelle Clarke Crime Thrillers by Lyndee Walker

Came across this first book of an eight book series and it sounded interesting so I thought I’d give it a try. Boy am I glad I did — I was immediately hooked and practically read the whole thing in one sitting ! Lyndee Walker does a great job of drawing out her characters so that you get to thinking that you actually know and care about them. I am so glad there are several books in this series because I love finishing one and knowing there are more to come — the characters are that enjoyable. I am currently on book seven of the series and trying to pace myself because I know there is only one more.
Thank you Lyndee for many hours of exciting reading ! The books are very well written and the stories just pull you in and have me trying to follow the clues and figure out how it will end. I’m always wrong but that’s the fun of it.
Great series, great characters and I am so glad to have found this author. Looking forward to many more hours of great reading 👍👌🤗

5.0 out of 5 stars Move Over, Kinsey Millhone

Those of us who followed the adventures of Kinsey Millhone know that there will never be another Sue Grafton. However, it seems that LynDee Walker is making a respectable attempt to write mystery/detective fiction at that level. Yes, I am surprised to hear me say that.

Nichelle Clarke, her protagonist, is every bit as smart as Kinsey, every bit as snarky and gutsy, and every bit as committed to doing the right thing, even when it puts her life in danger. Add to that her quirky sense of humor, and you have a fully realized heroine with enormous potential for character development in a dozen directions.

Clarke is the police and court reporter for the Richmond Telegraph in Richmond, VA. The newspaper struggles to compete with TV, and Clarke does her best to help the cause. She does not think of herself as an investigative reporter, but in fact she is. She has a nose for looking at a situation and determining that something just doesn’t add up, at which point she becomes totally committed to getting at the truth, no matter the danger she puts herself in.

Along the way, she is surrounded by a charming and eccentric cast of characters, and a plot that swerves at a dizzying pace. No chance the reader can figure out who the bad guy is, and I like my detective stories that way.

After finishing Front Page Fatality, I immediately ordered the second Nichelle Clarke novel in the series, Buried Leads, for my Kindle, and devoured it. I almost never do that, which gives you an idea of how much I enjoyed this book. I think Nichelle Clark crime thrillers could become an addiction.

Welcome to the world of Nichelle"Nicey" Clarke, Court and Crime reporter for the Richmond, Virginia newspaper, and shoe addict. A fast paced thriller where you trust no-one except Nichelle and her veteran editor Bob, that begins with the seemingly random murder of two small time drug dealers, and culminates in police corruption and the scoop of a lifetime.

Not quite five stars but the characterisation is excellent and the story line a page turner. However, it is a little girls' own and for me that was a bit too much.

Really enjoyed this. Good characters and plot. Enjoyed the writing, with the exception of the word "drug" rather than drag or dragged; at the appropriate time of course, as drugs are involved in this story. A good base for a series - have immediately purchased the next one and I hope the pace continues.
