I actually went back and re-read Serpent's Keep (the first book) before reading this as it had been about three years. It's a good read, picks up a little after the first one ended and I really enjoyed it. It pulled all the threads together one by one - until the end. The ending left something to be desired, it seemed to go from one left to go - to the end! For me, it was kind of a "huh?" moment as it doesn't really make clear how the goal was achieved - just that it was. But all in all, it was a good book, not overly long and keeps the storyline going. I've read several by this author and enjoyed them all!
