I wanted to like this book more. It has the workings of a ton of things I like. LitRPG, western, aliens, insane people working with the MC. The only thing that really made me not give this a higher rating. The Main Character. He tries sooooo hard to be this kinda stand off guy. Not a jerk, but not lovable, and in the end just comes off to me as an ass. He has a big problem with just being straightforward with people, but expects everyone to be that way with him. He also leads people on and never quite straightens anything out with anyone. He's a fly by the seat of your pants kinda guy which I like, but at the end of the day he seems to be a very vanella main character. Just someone you always see but don't really care about. I don't see myself following this series too much further if the MC stays the same due to how dull he is and how vibrant everyone (even the damn eagle) is.

While the part in the beginning where the main character talks to Death is confusing as hell, the story itself was fun and entertaining. The different characters are great and the story is well written. Would have been nice to do more character building on the bad guys.
3.0 out of 5 starsSome interesting ideas/ character but seemed a bit aimless at times

I liked the concept and some of the characters but there were times that the characters where just traveling without purpose. Maybe that was the intent to make it like a game that things just happen out of sequence/ without background so whilst OK could have been a better read.
If you like pulp westerns, this might perhaps interest you. If you like SciFi, go somewhere else. Basically, the story is that a guy that has died is immersed in a video game where you a have a wild-West environment in some dark moon. SciFi - none, just a weird environment. Even from the gaming environment it's no big deal. Good to pass an afternoon, then easily forgotten. Don't look for literature here.
