This book is special. I enjoyed the detailed world and unique color weaving magic. The characters are loveable. Smart and fun writing. The world is rich and detailed. It's been a long time since I've been excited and surprised by a book. The first page had me hooked. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world Charlie.
So many fantasy books feel like the same concepts being retold, but Charlie has managed to created a unique and intriguing new fantasy world! His characters are endearing and relatable. I can't wait for the next book!

Everyone in my family was enthralled with this book. Great from start to finish! I started listening to this and when my kids heard part of it, they insisted I wait for them to listen to it too. Cinder (Cindy) was a great character because my teenager daughter thought she was cool ange loved that she was a strong and magical character. Nix (Nick) was likable and admirable in spite of all he'd been through and was still a happy guy (with a bit of colorful language). Thresh was a new kind of character with a sarcastic perspective but still probably my favorite. We can't wait for the next book! (We listened to this book so I may have some of the names spelled incorrectly. )
Every time I read any book from Charlie Pulsipher, my face hurts from laughing, crying and really feeling every step of the journey. He is magical in how he weaves reality and fantasy in the quantum field of science. I always want to read more and more of his stories - I'm addicted.
