I enjoy reading this book even though it was short. We get to see the insight of the royal family. Make me glad I'm not royalty. To many back stabling of council members and jealousy from other vampire for me. The story take place over two week. A lot happen. We see Jen grown a lot in this book. The Duke isn't as bad as I thought. Roman isn't in the book but that ok. The last book left me not in his corner on his let sneak around with Jen. He should have know better since he has knowledge in this world. I think the best thing for him was when the Duke kill him to become a vampire. He is not right for her. I hope she be over him by the next book. She needs closer to get on with her new life. The Duke did try to help her. Jen is drop into this world with no sire to help her navigate through it. To bad she was making bad decisions that landing her in the spot she is in. Or maybe not. Right now, she feeling the old saying of "be careful what you ask or you might get it". I kinda would like to see her with the Duke or the very lest get to know him more. Ursula has more layer to her and we gotten to see them in this book. I'm looking forward for the next book. Overall this book is interest to make me buy the next one. I hope you will enjoy this as must as I did!
Definitely one of the better books in the series! The action is well paced and Jenna comes across as insightful and intelligent (as opposed to many of the other heroines out there who wouldn't see a clue or take a hint unless it smacked them in the face). Roquet also managed one of the more difficult tasks in writing - getting you to like the bad guy (or maybe the good guy) by realizing there particular shade of gray maybe a little on the lighter side.
I LOVE this series! What I really enjoy about this story line is that Angela’s characters are very relatable. I always find myself thinking I would have many of the same thoughts if I found myself suddenly transformed into a vampire & had to navigate an entirely different world.
What would you do if you were suddenly thrust into a centuries old society with very strict rules & very final consequences without any guidance? Reading this series is a much safer way of finding out. Join us. You might find you’re better suited for the night!
I really like this series. The books have a light mystery to them lots of suspense and a few giggles. This one fell a bit short. At the beginning there was a lot of description of where jenna lived and what people were wearing, so the book dragged on for a bit. Stick with it because it gets better and you'll understand at the end this book was a setup for what appear to be a very good and suspenseful book next time, Can't wait for more.
This series has only gotten better and this fifth book is no exception. I love the characters, the intrigue and wondering what will happen next. I also really like how this book involves more of the royal family and all the issues that come along with being part of that family I really wish the next book was out already so I could continue binge reading this series!

Thicker than Blood finds Jenna confined to the dukes home. Is this a prison or what saves her? Another page turner for me. I was lost in this story from page 1. So much happens and is revealed as with each installment. I’m off to book 6!

Another great installment. If you've read and enjoyed the first four books in this series, you will enjoy this installment as well. I'm loving the progression of Jenna's story and can't wait to see what develops with the duke. The vampire royal family intrigue is also a lot of fun. Enjoy!
The central character of the story line brings to life the reality of a strong willed person caught in a world of other very powerful players. She has secrets to protect but few allies and some major unknowns that she unfortunately has to trust with her secrets. Great storyline.
this series gets better and better. i.love the character's the intrigue in the story. and the suprises twists and turns you dont expect. looking forward to book 6 to find out whats next for jenna and the vampire royal family
