There are lots of emotional scenes all throughout the story, where genuine inner feelings are conveyed with realism. I felt as though I was watching actual people live through some tough challenges, and each moment seem so convincing. Jean Joachim has written a very compelling romance, as each situation that arises seems as though it could actually happen. The main characters are also appealing which made me care if their dreams came true.
Although Mike Sullivan has decided to ask his current girlfriend to be his wife, he just cannot keep thoughts from entering his mind about a woman whom he briefly met five years ago. While he knows marriage to Amy would be good in certain ways, the connection that he had with Heather Stone made him feel happy. But a big mistake had her never contacting him again, and he has no idea where she is now living.
When Mike happens upon something written by Heather, he is excited over this unexpected opportunity.
HEATHER AND MIKE has emotional conflicts that kept me intrigued and wanting to discover what choices would be made. When someone gets the opportunity to change the outcome in response to how they previously reacted, the results could often go in many different ways. This possibility could easily happen to Heather and Mike if they meet up again, as how they respond could lead to lasting joy or even more heartache. I thought the author created some interesting circumstances for this couple to face, where much soul-searching must be done.
