1.0 out of 5 stars?

Wow. Talk about disfunctional families and relationships! I kept thinking it would get more normal. It didn't. Then I thought that it would have a happy ending. Nope.
4.0 out of 5 starsA story so real, so raw, so sexy. Love is complicated.

Wow, what a complicated web we weave! This book was very intricate. I think i did have some trouble following along at first because I haven't read the other stories in the series, so there were a lot of names and complicated situations I had to digest quickly. Oops on me! This book is Sex in the City with a little bit of John Grisham. Sexy. Steamy. The authors writing style is very down to Earth, casual, and modern. This sometimes comes off as unpolished, but I believe that is the point. Most people don't talk in a polished manner, so the characters and author feel relatable. I love how the book even had underlying messages. What I took away from it is you need to appreciate it when you have a good thing. Be more trusting of your partner, because your imagination can create situations that aren't there. And that a man's lack of communication can cause serious problems and make his girl feel uneasy and lied to, even even he isn't lying. This story was real.
This novel is certainly not what I was expecting: it was funny and gripping and emotional. I really felt like Hill's writing style helped me engage with the characters on a personal level- I genuinely miss Kayla now I've finished reading. All round, a beautiful little book that I'd recommend to anyone.
