5.0 out of 5 starsExciting storyline, a tale of unexpected love after heartache

I'm not an avid reader, and usually stick to non-fiction whenever I do find time to read (while not falling asleep). However I read parts 1 and 2 of this trilogy series in a record 4 days. When I told my husband that I was finished he was surprised thinking it was only the first book. He was shocked when I said no, I had finished both. That's how great the story lines and characters captured me. - As we all know, life can be real hard at times and you feel like everything is crashing. These books had gentle reminders that with faith, family, and friends you can endure anything.

I can already see this book as a movie on the Hallmark Channel. A flawed but likable main character leaves the big city behind after a traumatic personal event and grows up - a lot. Set on the idyllic Eastern Shore of Maryland, Kate has to come to terms with he consequences of her actions with the support of friendly locals. But all is not calm: literal and figurative storms shake Kate's new foundations. Just as we think things are quieting down, the action picks up and takes you right to the end. A fun read.
I just returned from a small vacation in Chincoteague/Assateague island and picked up this book also found it was in a trilogy series. Enjoyed the book very much. Just enough romance and suspense to keep you turning the pages
Fell in love with these characters and the amazing story line that keeps you hooked from the beginning. I couldn't put the book down I loved it so much. It brought me back to my childhood vacationing in Chincoteague.

Enjoyed the book very much. Just enough romance and suspense to keep you turning the pages. Even had a few tears. The book did have a few words that I felt like could have been left out. However, would read another book by this author.
5.0 out of 5 starsIf you love military history and romance, you will love Zisland of Miracles

This novel is well written and the reader enjoys elements of mystery, romance and historical facts. Loved the tie in to the local Coast Guard service and history on the island in Virginia. The author cleverly weaves various characters in and out of the story, even bringing in characters from her previous novels. Thoroughly enjoyed Island of Miracles and recommend it!
I loved this book. It is a Christian book, but that does not stop it from being interesting and enjoyable. The mystery aspect was suspenceful. I did not have to skip over any sex scenes (because there weren't any and the book in great without them), and the small bit of church that was included in no way makes it preachy. It was delightful. I couldn't read it fast enough. I can't wait to read her next book and will have to go back and read her first book. Thank you, Amy Schisler, for making engaging fiction without the over-the-top sex.
