What a treat to read quality writing on something you’re passionate about; scuba diving!
Simon Pridmore’s passion resonates throughout these pages too. I believe his knowledge and hard-hitting non-didactic suggestions and hints on how to mentally and physically prepare, practice, and execute has saved several lives that the world will never know. Thanks to the author’s incisive practical commentary and instruction. As a teenage knucklehead in Florida, routinely dove without pressure gauges, caves without lights much less reel lines etc,. I’m57 now and until four months ago, hadn’t dove in 30 years. Since September, I’ve made about 45 spearfishing dives in the Gulf and getting back in the saddle with my rebuilt 30’ Mako! Thank you Mr. Pridmore for your aid in protecting me from myself; no easy feat. If you’re thinking about getting back into scuba much less spearfishing, do yourself a favor and inhale his teachings chronicled in both of his books!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for beginner divers

It's written by a man who has vast experience and much to offer. I get bogged down with the metric measurements, being a yank, and sometimes the humor elicits raised eyebrows. Otherwise, a very useful book for divers getting started. Lots of good tips and interesting facts.

This is another wonderful book by the author. It is well laid out and supplements his other books. It is well written, easy to follow and is great addition to any diver's library regardless of experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars An exceptional book on scuba

I am an experienced sports diver and the book provided common sense advice and information about diving safely. Even the articles on technical diving, which I don't participate in, had a lot of relevant safety information. An enjoyable book to read which will improve your diving technique

5.0 out of 5 stars Taking my diving to the next level

This book is a treasure trove - tons of facts and a wealth of shared experience which has had a direct impact on my diving and will definitely be useful when I am teaching children to dive. While many books are great because you can't put them down, this is the opposite for me - I keep having to stop to go and try things out! So much to learn (and occasionally unlearn) ... I imagine people a lot more experienced that me will still find this an interesting read, and the discussions it has provoked in our diver household will I'm sure be repeated around the world. Thank you Mr Pridmore!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a lot

Very repetitive, hammering home what most Ocean Divers already know. The rest of it is common sense! If you know absolutely nothing about scuba, it is probably a good purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Storie subacquee per imparare
Reviewed in Italy on May 4, 2019
