This book is very insightful. After reading this book I see the author Jeff Meyer as a wise leader, who has had his own struggles and figured out how to conquer them . Fear not Dream Big is a new outlook at how we can take steps to improve our walk and set audacious goal that are actually obtainable. From the outside, our walk can look like God has us in a grand field where his sheep play and feed in the fresh green grass and drink by cool waters. Reality is, there are some days where that pasture is a wet, soggy, hill side where the shepherd can’t help but get his boots so stuck in the slop as he walks, that they literally can get pulled right off of his feet. I love that this book is written/meant to help leaders see our walk with God for what it is. Being a leader is not clean, a walk on God’s path is not easy and there are days when it feels like you’re stuck in the mud.
I read this book and looked at it as a little help for me on those days when I am stuck. I will return to this book often on the slow days. Now I wouldn’t sit down and read it all in one day, that is not how it is written. The chapters, images, directions are meant to take hold of individually on the days when you need to be picked up and moved to dry ground. That is what I found in this book. It is a book of hope and inspiration to give me a push, or a nudge to get going again as my wheels are spinning in the mud. It also can be a HUGE crane tow truck that picks me up shakes the slop off leaving my old boots behind and places me on the road again, so I can continue on God’s path where The Lord is guiding me. You need this book! It is well worth the time to read and let it marinate in your very being.
