A standalone read with a HEA. Steamy sex scenes. I LOVE this series set in Diamond Creek, Alaska. Owen moved his engineering firm to Alaska to be able to test his products in extreme temperatures and because he loves to ski. He is a bit mysterious as he keeps to himself working most waking hours. He is determined to create a product that will produce energy at a low cost and not be dangerous like gas. He is wealthy, smart, sexy and gorgeous. He avoids women and relationships, he wants nothing to do with loving another person.
Ivy's brother is the ski instructor at the Last Frontier Lodge and when she leaves California she heads to Alaska to be near him. She has her Ph.D., is a genius level engineer. She had a job at a big university in Calif. but she was forced to leave because of the advances she did not want from the chair of the department. He preyed on young women threatening their careers or grades. She had enough, filed charges against him and left. She was immediately hired by Off the Grid. Their specialty is her field of research so she was a perfect fit.
It seems Owen is a perfect fit as well. This is their love story. There is a bit of drama as these two overcome some issues they both have. The chair causes her some problems but you will remember Diamond Creek has the hot shot lawyer from a previous book. So, game on. He sets out to help her and get the old coot his just deserts. It is a very entertaining read and I really enjoyed it. I like all the characters. Many from previous books that I already knew but you will not be lost if you have not read previous books. I definitely recommend this book as well as all the others in this series. It is fun learning about Alaska and all it has to offer. It really makes one want to visit and see for themselves just how glorious this state really is.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/31/18
