5.0 out of 5 starsMel Morgan's first solo adventure
Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2019
Author T.G. Ayer brings us a different perspective of her Darkworld universe with the first in the Soul Tracker series. Mel Morgan is a soul tracker who goes out of her way to help those that come to her to find a family member or an object that they've lost. When she is asked by her police contacts to look into a missing girl case, she takes it and is able to track the girl to a demon plane where they are holding her. Along the way she runs into a Djinn named Saleem who asks her to help him track down his mother, the former ruler of the demon plain. Mel also goes and gets help from a Necromancer who has a devilish side that she doesn't know about. This is a great beginning to the Soul Tracker series and since we've already been introduced to Mel before in Tee's Skin Walker novels it really good to see this universe expand. I'm looking forward to read the next novel in the series and I highly recommend it.
4.0 out of 5 starsA Rollercoaster Ride to the Demon Realm and Back...

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. I enjoyed the read. The storyline develops nicely and moves at a steady pace. This first in a series is a cliffhanger, but the story draws you in and makes you want to read more. It's a clean read that has a strong female lead and a couple of strong male counters (that I wouldn't mind seeing develop into something more). I recommend this read to anyone looking for a new series with lots of potential. A great afternoon's read, but I 'm looking forward to book 2, Demon Kin.

Blood Magic by TG Ayer
This is Book 1 of the SoulTracker Series, a spinoff of the DarkWorld Series. It's also set in the DarkWorld SkinWalker Series World, but you don't have to read that series first. That series in my TBR file, but I have no problem reading Blood Magic. I received this book as for a honest review, but after reading it, I would've done the review anyways whether I got it free or paid for it.
I'm mad or is it sad. I'm devouring the book, and then, boom, it ended. I was so involved with the story (and the Kindle told me there was about 75% completed and it ended. Yes there is a bit of cliffhanger, or a lead into Demon Kin, but all the major things were pretty much tied up. There's more to this series to be written and I can't wait to read Demon Kin.
I loved T.G. Ayer’s DarkWorld SkinWalker series, so it’s no surprise that I quickly glimmer on to Blood Magic, the first of the author’s new SoulTracker series, which is a spinoff and also set in the fantastic multiverse created for the DarkWorld series (though this series can standalone so you don't have to read that series first, even if you’d be missing something grand). You gotta love any story involving gargoyles, demons, sorcerers and Djinn - or a take-no-prisoners snarky feisty heroin like Mel Morgan who, oh yeah, just happens to be a Master Teleporter capable of moving through the “Veil” into the otherworldly planes (and is wickedly powerful). This is a great adventure with wonderful writing, some neat twists and turns and a fabulous cast (I especially liked Saleem the Djinn). Really this is a superb series start of what I can already tell is going to be a new addiction. I could go on and on with praises for this book. It definitely deserves it. The book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
This was my first book by new to me author Ayer. After reading some other reviews I realized that this is a spin off from a previous series which explains my slightly lost feeling. I felt as if there was backstory i was missing, unfortunately I didn't like this enough to go back and read the previous series. I did find that Mel and her powers grew on me as the book progressed. There seemed to be the promise of romance with Saleem that wasn't realized. For the most part I enjoyed this book. Will I continue the series? I'll have to think about that. Cautiously recommended.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for voluntary review consideration.
I really enjoyed this book. This is one of my first books by this author and I am glad I had the chance to read it. I like how strong of a character that Mel is and I like the idea of a master teleporter. Of course gargoyles are alaways cool too. I love the interactions between the characters and how they go about doing what they need to do. There are plenty of twists and turns and its enough to make a very good book. Mel is a character that will have you rooting for her as you go through the book with her as she tries to save as many people as she can.
I know for a fact I will be looking forward to more in this series!!
5.0 out of 5 starsA Very Exciting Read if you Love Fantsy, Mystery and the Supernatural!

What a Fantastic Journey with Supernatural beings like Djinn, Gargoyles, witches and more! I received an advance copy and I am so happy I did! This is my first book of T.G. Ayers I've read and it had me on the edge of my seat pretty much the entire time! Mel is a Tracker who finds missing people, it's just the way she does it which is fascinating. She can travel out of her body and with a piece of hair from the victim, she can locate them and then "jump" her physical body to their location. I can't wait to read the
Mel and Saleem feel like old friends ... The characters are rounded and likeable, the action fast and things get done without much hanging around. I love Tee's writing style. Besides, we all need a daily dose of magic to brighten up our lives, even if others are having the adventures!

This is the first book that i have read by T G Ayer and i am completely blown away and gutted that i hadn't read her books earlier! I adored this book and it's definitely on my favourite book list. There is a very compelling way that this author writes that drags you willingly into her world of fantasy and imagination.
I was hooked to this storyline from the first word, all the way the way through to the last word and i didn't want it to stop!!! I am dying to read the next book just to find out what is going to happen next after reading how it ended! There is so much to this storyline that i loved but i don't want to rave about it too much as i wouldn't want to give anything of the storyline away, i can guarantee that whoever picks this book up will love it,you have so much action that you have surprises around every corner and you never see any of it coming! It has a very addicting quality to it that makes you just keep turning the pages.
There are quite a few characters and different species throughout the book, each character completely different to the next. I loved Mel’s character, she is so strong mentally and is completely aware of who she is and the abilities she has. She is rather selfless and wants to keep others safe, even if it harms her wellbeing. She cares deeply, especially about her friends and she will do anything for the truth! I could read about her character all day! There was something about Saleem that just drew me to his character and want to know more, i do hope we hear more about him!
Seriously go and grab yourself a copy of this book, it truly is an amazing read!!!!
5.0 out of 5 starsA fabulous first book in this series

This is the first book in the SoulTracker arc of the Dark Universe series, which feature Mel the tracker and Saleem the Djinn (previously seen in the SkinWalker books). While I wasn't 100% sure where this action took place in relation to the SkinWalker books (from references in the book it's obviously after Kai's attempts to save her sister, but otherwise I'm not sure), it didn't really make any difference, and wouldn't have mattered if you hadn't read any of those books either, and were approaching this book as your introduction to the Dark Universe. The writing was excellent (as I've come to expect from TG Ayer!) and I really liked getting to know Mel and Saleem better. The storyline was really engaging and kept me hooked from beginning to end, thrilled to know what'd happen next. I loved it, and can't wait to read book 2 to find out what happens next to all the characters. An excellent read, and I definitely recommend it to all Dark Universe lovers, and anyone who is a fan of the paranormal and supernatural. NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

5.0 out of 5 starsplein d'action avec un grain de romance...
Reviewed in Canada on April 24, 2017
