I love Marie. I’m so glad about...everything. I don’t want to say too much and spoil the story for longtime fans. I can’t wait for the next story. I’m glad there’s a next one.
I love the characters and being let into their lives. Adam has had the best character evolution I’ve seen in a long while. He’s not perfect and I won’t say his flaws have been forgotten, but the good sides of him got brought out by Dani, Marie and Melony over time.
His parents are shockingly atrocious though. One could question how a quality person like Marie could have people like that in her life, but the very same things happened to both sides of my family. Some of the family members were sincerely mourning, but others had a mix of sadness but mostly greed and desperation. The author captures this very well.
Lol...Dani doesn’t need a new phone. Just a new battery. Keep up with the tech news and you will know what I mean. My phone had the same problem and it was only a year old. I’m on a different brand phone now, though I still run the problematic brand for work, hence all my cell phone case and screen protector reviews. Anyway I thought that part about her phone was timely and amusing and helped make the story and characters feel more real because I had been through it myself as well as several friends of mine.
New people, don’t try reading this as a stand alone. You need to start at the beginning and read the whole series for the characters to make any sense and have any meaning for you. I didn’t much care for the first book in the series and was very critical but I fell in love as the series progressed and the characters developed.
