5.0 out of 5 starsDon't think the blurb tells it all

I positively love Jude Deveraux's trips back in time. It started for me with her Knight in Shining Armor and now with Return to Summerhouse, she proves that she has mastered the technique for time travel and romance!!! I was in suspense for a great many moments with this book, but it was a great read. I couldn't bear to put it down!!

I was eager to read this book because I had read The Summerhouse. It did not disappoint! In true Deveraux style, this book was once again one I could not put down and definitely did not want it to end. In every setting, the descriptions of the characters and settings are so real, it is almost as if I am seeing everything in real life. The emotions of the characters got inside me and I could feel their pain, their sorrow, and their happiness and passion. You will not regret reading this book but don't expect to be able to read just one chapter at a sitting. Not only does Ms. Deveraux weave a great story but she also teaches a little bit about living in not so modern times.
After reading The Summerhouse, I wasn't sure I'd like Return to the summerhouse that much because I loved the first book and thought the sequel might be a let down (as they often are). But i was wrong, this book was a great read from start to finish and i didn't want to put it down!
Return to the summerhouse is a story about three women Amy, Faith and Zoe. Amy had a perfect life but a recent miscarriage really hit her hard, Zoe lost her memory in an accident and woke up to a town full of strangers who hated her and she had no idea why, and finally Faith married a rich childhood friend who died. Since he was rich and she wasn't Eddie's (the guy) mother didn't want him to marry Faith but when he did, she made Faith's life miserable.
So anyway, all three of them end up going to a therapist who sends them to Maine where they meet Madame Zoya who sends them to the past to change Amy's ancestors faith (stop him from being murdered), and in the process discover what truly matters to them and find true love! An adorable book, i totally recommend it!
I always know when pick up a book by Jude Deveraux I will not be disappointed. As usual, her story about three more women traveling back in time to change their lives hit the spot for me. It makes me wonder what I would change if I had the chance? The insight the women in this story had was clever and intelligent. I love how Ms. Deveraux paints such vivid and believable strong women, even though they don't always start out that way. I recommend this story to anyone who has wondered if their destiny might have been meant to be different than how their lives are now.
This book was not a rewrite of the first book in the series.I loved the first book, however in this one all three women went to the same place. My first thought was how could the author make this adventure as good as the first one. She did and I ended up loving it.

I loved the first book so much and this one didn't dissappoint. It is so easy to become engrossed in the lives of these women and become so attached that you never want it to end. I loved that she mixed it up a bit from the last book but kept a lot the same as well. I would recommend this and the first book to anyone. It has adventure, romance and heartache. I hope she writes more!
I wasn't sure if this book would be able to hold it's own over 'Summerhouse' , but it did. Even though both books had to go back in time. Several made the story line very different. Enjoyed both books lots.
I loved this book. 3 strangers are sent to the summerhouse and end up visiting the gypsy woman who's gives them the option of going back in time. One of the ladies, who has just suffered a miscarriage, opts to go back to the 1800's to save a relative of her husband in order to change his future which in turn also changes hers. She takes the other two ladies back in time with her. Based on their visit with her, they are able to go back in time and change things in their past according to what they found out about themselves on the trip back to the 1800's with her. Great summer read!
