ONE ENCHANTING KISS is a short story about a young woman (Moire) whose family has been persecuted for witchcraft which has made her afraid to love, and the young man (Thomas) determined to show her that not only can he be trusted with her secrets, but also her heart...
This is also what I consider a sort of follow-up to the previous book in the "Enduring Legacy" multi-author series written by Dawn Brower titled THE LEGACY'S ORIGIN: Dalais Clan's Fate. That too is a short story which features Moire and her twin sister Lili as children. That one was a very lovely and touching tale, and for that reason I was really looking forward to this one. I'm sorry to say however, that this book didn't quite live up to my expectations.
I did think that Moire and Thomas were both kind individuals, that their romance was sweet, and I enjoyed seeing how the other members of Moire's family were faring. On a whole this story was just okay though and it never moved me on any emotional level. The author also made the mistake of telling rather than showing, rarely even having this couple spend any time together. Then there was the epilogue which was basically just a quick love scene that not only felt out of place, but was completely unnecessary.
So while I didn't hate this story I can't say I'd recommend it either. It only took me about an hour to read and at $2.99 I definitely think it's overpriced. If you can get it for cheap though and have read Book 1 in the series you may want to give a try just to see what became of the rest of the Dalais Clan.
