...finished it in a day as I have so many adventures of Alastair Stone.
This one was... different, at least to me. It laid off the more universal story line and settled back into the Stone comfort zone, a smaller, more personal story. What I found surprised me is that I've become very familiar with both how things work in the Stonyverse as well as how Rat (R.L. King's old college nickname that I pretend I have the right to use :) writes and plots, to the point I'm regularly recognizing foreshadowing and making the connections and not being surprised by much since we're in a more typical Stone wheelhouse story. When I first realized it, I got worried that the book might be a let down, but that wasn't true. These characters have come to live with me in my head, and just being with them is a delight all its own!
Thoroughly enjoyed, highly recommended. Keep writing, Rat :)
