Like her first book, In the Reins, this book did not disappoint. Her herion, Devon, is strong but vulnerable. But not in the expected way you see played out over and over in movies. And her male characters have a level of depth that you don’t often see. And the connection Devon has with her horse reminds us that love and understanding is often not found in words. This book is funny. Romantic. Mysterious. And an all around entertaining read (whether you know and love horses or not!). Five stars for sure. And can’t wait for the third book!
OMGGG this book is SO good! I literally couldn't put it down. The ending was so good! I feel like I know these characters as the author does such an amazing job describing them. I don't know the first thing about horses, but after reading this series, it makes me want to learn how to ride and live in the country! I can't decide which book by Carly Kade I like better. I just know I can't wait for the 3rd series to come out!
If you love horses, you need to read this second book in the series. The author gets deep into the soul of McKennon and the darkness only he can move away from. You come away with the burning question -- how long before the third book is published?
A most fun and enjoyable read! Cowboy Away is the perfect follow-up to In The Reins. Learning about McKennon's demons and Sophia's past and their connection to Green Briar Ranch was intriguing. My heart goes out to Devon for loving such a conflicted man. Looking forward to reading the final book of the Series.
I really enjoyed the first book in the series In the Reins. Cowboy Away was just like the first book I couldn't put it down. The back story of McKennon's past and how he came to the Green Briar ranch was engaging. Now new possibilities for Devon and McKennon have me anxiously waiting for the next book in the series! Gary
