5.0 out of 5 starsMcNally's novella is both heartwarming and heartbreaking in equal measure.

McNally's novella is both heartwarming and heartbreaking in equal measure. The "Twilight Zone"-esque story involves a meteorite that drops the Fountain of Youth into the backyard of an elderly, retired doctor and his dementia-ridden wife. The characters are so well-developed that you feel as if you know them from page one. You ache and hope with them every step of the way. McNally expertly takes them, and the reader, on a journey that tests the bounds of love and death, toward an ending that is surprising and hopeful...yet perhaps a little chilling, as well. I enjoyed the hell out of this slim volume and can't wait to see what McNally has in store for the future.
Once started I couldn't put the story down. I am a full fledged sci-fi reader and this is non-typical of what I read but it was written by a long ago friend so I gave it a try and am truly happy that I did. I am looking forward to future stories from the mind of Jack!
