3.0 out of 5 starsGood for road trip

I went to Gettysburg to visit the battlefield. Decided to stay in the Fairfield Inn because of ties with the battle. Found out there were supposedly ghost at the Inn. Thought about staying somewhere else but decided to tough it out for a few nights. Watched a episode of Ghost Hunters or something like that that had an episode that featured the Fairfield Inn Haunting. It was almost amusing. Then read this book. Lots of good information in the book besides just the haunting. It was a interesting book to read and well worth a read if your planning on staying a the Fairfield Inn. But most of the ghost non-sense was just ghost non-sense. While staying at the Fairfield Inn looked for everything they mentioned in the book. Debunked every possible occurrence. It wasn't like I didn't see some of the things that they tried to act like were ghostly encounters. The difference was that everything they mentioned had a logical explanation that they leave out in the book. But I'll let you be the judge of your own ghostly experience at the Fairfield Inn. For me, zero ghost or spirits or things that eat you in the middle of the night.

Is there a way to rate a book and help it out without writing a book report? 'Cause I'm not in the 4th grade anymore and I don't wanna do homework! It was a good book, okay? It was about ghosts and Gettysburg. If you like ghosts and history you'll probably like it. The author has more books. I'm gonna go read another one. Leave me alone now. Aaaargh.
As a fan of Richard Estep, I was already looking forward to reading this book. I must tell you that I was not disappointed. The book includes a history of the area and the battles that went on around it. It isn’t just a description of the investigations, there are other witness stories included also. Thank you for another well done book, Mr. Estep!!!
Richard tells the history of Gettysburg very well with much respect. I enjoy hearing about it all and discovered a few things I had no idea of. It was a well told experience and had me experiencing history like I could actually see it.

Like many, I've always been fascinated with Civil War history, and this book effectively combines some of that along with my interest in all things paranormal. As someone who has always wanted to visit some of the places covered in the book, especially as a paranormal investigator, this was right up my alley. Highly recommended!
I've read a number of books on the battle including those by Mr. Nesbitt. Mr. Esteps historical accounts of the battles he discussed were accurate and detailed. I'd like to see more from him in the future from other Civil War battlefield investigations.
