I absolutely loved Maggie. It had me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter. Naomi is the quintessential writer that is open to her surroundings, honest to a fault, and sees things through imaginative eyes, with a curiosity and creativity that she not only plays to but draws from. When she meets Ryan, her entire world takes a different spin. He is handsome, full of charisma, and perfect boyfriend material. Then there’s Bryce, the sweet, handsome, single father next door who seems attracted to Naomi immediately, wanting to help her and protect her in any way she might need, making her love life even more confusing.
But let's not forget Maggie. Living next to a cemetery not only has its inspirational perks, but it is also full of mysteries to solve. And Maggie is one of them. When she starts invading Naomi’s dreams and her house, her life takes a turn she never would have expected. Maggie’s antics with Naomi’s cat, Zelda, are beyond entertaining. Add to the mix the ex-boyfriend, an overzealous police officer and numerous other interesting and essential characters and you have the makings of a fantastic mystery that begs to be solved.
Mya O’Malley’s characters are so full of life and light, and her stories so vivid, natural and perplexing, that you can’t help but be drawn in. Maggie was a riddle that kept me guessing to the very end, and the variables were constantly changing making it impossible to predict the outcome until it is revealed by the author. There were stories within the story, but each tale tied together with the next, weaving a perfect web of romance and the paranormal, a web only Ms O’Malley can create. It was the exact type of adventure I expect from the author, and has me looking forward to her next mysterious adventure.
