4.0 out of 5 stars A solid third installment for the series

Though this also end at an odd point in the overall narrative. SPOILER ALERT ON REMAINING PORTION OF THE REVIEW!

I expected the end of the third book to be Jay, Kate, and the kids arrival (or at least those surviving that far) at Mac's refuge, but that is not the case. So, now I expect that will be the resolution of book 4. Which would then lead to the question of what could book 5 be about, so it is possible that book 4 will not end at that natural seeming point of reunion--which would then come at the end of book 5. But that seems to be an awfully long stretch for the story arc to me, at this point.

Another book in this series that gets real, fast. When society starts turning it’s back on honor and being a decent human, this book gives a look at what makes good people turn to evil. This is a thoughtful look which makes you examine yourself and what you might be willing to do if the unthinkable was to happen. Would society collapse in the space of a week, 2 weeks or a month. Do the meanest most vicious people you know become dictators and take from everyone else? How would you survive? What would you try to do to survive?

2.0 out of 5 stars A good story

I liked the story. At part 3 and $6 I must cease. I can’t justify spending a total of $12. I wish I could. The story gave me a much needed break from reality the past few days. I wish the author much success, but ripping one story into 5 “books” seems a disservice to the reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly entertaining

I started this series with a free e-book of the first volume. I read at work at a lot and can't afford my habit so I sign up for free ebooks and read most of them if they aren't horrible. This one is far from horrible. There are a few issues a good editor could fix (is it their 1st anniversary or their 4th is a good example) but overall it's a highly entertaining book with likeable characters and a good plot. I started for free but I'm purchasing the other books in the series because I want to see what happens next!

The format of this series of books is a little different. Be that as it may the characters become well defined and likeable. I'm having trouble putting these books down to read and digest slowly.

The non-stop action continues! I can't put this series down, much to the neglect of other duties. Oh well -- here goes with the next one! <grin>

The disastrous solar emp took away the comforts of modern life. With power, gas , clean water and food hard to come by people turned streets into war zones.
Jay has found his wife and daughter but where is it safe? The conflict continues. Action, deprivarion of liberty and fighting for survival. A good read.
