I had trouble finishing this book. It was a very long story about a woman from a rich but dysfunctional family who was dismissed by her family at the age of eighteen because she would not go to college, so she had to make it on her own which made her a very strong, ambitious and successful woman in the flower business. Although her parents abandoned her she still cared for her younger siblings and helped her family raise them as their fortunes dwindled. This book detailed her love affairs, eventual marriage and own family. I found the writing style to be tedious and I had to skim sections to finish. Not one of her best books in my opinion.
The reader will learn a lot about the floral industry as the author has taken great care to research and develop the setting to build the characters and the overall plot. We came to love the protagonist and the story was addicting!
