I enjoyed reading The Secret of Chestnut Hall. After reading several deep complex sagas a light upbeat whodunit was just what I needed and I was not disappointed. The storyline was consistent from the beginning to the end leading the reader exactly where they needed to go. No straying allowed. Along the way, you met the right people at the right time and hung on to some once you met them throughout the story. Jesse, the main character had a great personality and as a gardener, she gained many extra points as having gardening as an occupation. There were unexpected twists and turns around the whodunit which created a level of danger that got the heart racing and pages turning. The end was initially sad but then the good won out with the case closed. I mean, don’t all good whodunits end with the case closed. RECOMMENDATION: Buy and Read the Book – you will enjoy. –Tex. The Secret of Chestnut Hall (A Blooms, Bones and Stones Cozy Mystery - Book One)
I received this book as an ARC for an voluntarily honest review. I loved this book it is well written. I couldn't put the book down my kindle died and I had to wait for it to charge to find out what happened. This book has it all suspense, adventure, stories of haunted houses, suspected murder, bones found on the property. This book is beyond entertaining you will love it as much as I did or more.
I enjoyed this cozy mystery very much. It had a very nice beginning where the reader knew what was going on, then the mystery started to come into play bit by bit. Of course there is a small amount of romance in it. The story has very nice developed characters, and the story line is easy to follow. You will be rooting for Jazz, Evan and the gang in this book. I was given ARC of this story. The review is of my own opinions and done voluntarily.
A fun cozy mystery. Chestnut Hall has a new owner and hires a garden architect to restore the gardenscape. On the side they try to figure out a few mysteries around the history of the house, get attacked themselves and solve an old murder. Plus, of course, they fall in love with each other.. Very entertaining and really fun to read this book is ideal for the weekend or a day to laze away with a book.
This was a cute mystery. I read the second book in the series first, and I thought it was somewhat better than this one. However, I liked the characters and enjoyed the investigation of the mystery by Evan and Jazz. There were a number of suspects, many of whom were not completely innocent of wrongdoing. If you enjoy cozy mysteries, give this one a try.
This story wines around Evan and Jazz as the garden renovation progresses. Various characters are interwoven with a clear purpose for their role. The author's writing makes for an easy read. The love story and mystery evolve together in an unexpected, interesting manner. Worth reading. Enjoy!!
