Black and White Truth (The Syndicate-Born Trilogy #2), my second read from author K.M. Hodge I originally got this book back in January of 2017 & one thing lead to another and I never got around to reading it until now. Extremely well written, the characters, even the minor ones, are well developed with an attention-grabbing storyline. I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make the reader get invested into the characters and thereby the story. I’ll be reading more from this author! Better yet this is the second book in a multi-book series that I look forward to reading. Next up, True Blue Son (The Syndicate-Born Trilogy #3). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Fast-paced drama full of twists and turns. I enjoyed this book very much! KM Hodge writes a great suspense thriller without a lot of gory violence. Hodge doesn’t write cookie-cutter characters; all the main characters have multiple layers. Most of the characters are from the first story and it is good to see their stories continue. Jason Knettle, in particular, is struggling and hanging on by a thread. He is depressed and slowly killing himself with alcohol. He feels so many emotions: hate, a desire for retribution, fear, love, sadness, and a bit of hope. I rooted for him all the way and I really wanted some sort of happy ending for him. Although this book can be read as a stand-alone book, I strongly suggest you read the first in the Syndicate-Born series, Red on the Run.
Wow! This second book in this trilogy is fabulous! It is well written and has some surprising moments along the way. The characters are refreshed for the reader, as the book begins seventeen years after the first closes. At first I thought, "What?!", but realized a bit further on that it was appropriate. A lot happens in the interim; these happenings drive the actions taken by individuals in this new book. The title itself fits the story perfectly. Many emotions flow from the people and their experiences as the book is read; all fit their character. Some questions still remain at the end, but the author has since answered some from book one. I feel she will wrap it up well in book three. I don't write about the plot as I want others to have the good experiences I have had in reading without preconceptions. So, treat yourself to a great book!

Absolutely one of the best I have read in quite a while. Be sure to read the first book in the series and be prepared to get the 3rd and final book of the trilogy. In this one Jason wants to write a true crime novel telling the whole truth about the Syndicate he helped battle 17 years ago. While doing so he ends up doing battle again with Scott who is out of prison now. Scotthas plans on becoming the next boss of the Syndicate and is not about to let Jason or anyone else get in his way. Read the entire trilogy when you have plenty of time; it's that hard to put down.
5.0 out of 5 starsWell-written and exciting...the best combination for suspense!

I don't normally read the suspense/thriller/mystery category, but K.M. Hodge got me hooked with Red on the Run. I LOVED the characters in the first book and was kind of mad at the ending (it's good, I just get attached to fictional people) so I was excited to read this book and see what happened with everyone. Black & White Truth is even better than the first book! It's well-written and moves at a nice crisp pace because she's superb at plotting. K.M. Hodge is also great at making you like characters. If you're a fan of gritty, real life suspense, then this is your book. It's not as dark as Red, but it continues the Syndicate saga, so believe me, there is darkness to be had. Black & White Truth is a bookshelf must-have for suspense and thriller fans!

I thought RED ON THE RUN was great and could not imagine BLACK AND WHITE TRUTH being better. Well, I was wrong! This book held my attention all the way through. I read it in 2 sittings. The story-line is great. The characters are complex and it's action-packed. There is a lot of violence and horrendous language. If you don't like either, stay away from this series. If you can get past it, read the whole series! Cannot wait to read book #3 in this series.
4.0 out of 5 starsI wasn't sure if I would like this book.

I was pleasantly surprised. Set in 2025 and beyond, I was afraid it would be more science fiction than thriller. But aside from some possible scientific advances, it remained a story with a strong human touch. Now on to book three.
Another riveting story line. Twists and turns all the way through. When I started reading this book (2) I was still stunned by bk 1 and upset about Alex. So, like everyone else (characters) in bk 2, I grieved along with them. Nothing is what it seems. A well written and very involved story line to each novel in this trilogy. Well worth taking the plunge but make sure you have a box of tissues at hand.
Looking forwards to reading the last in the trilogy - True Blue Son.
This is the 2nd book in K.L. Hodge's The Syndicate-Born Trilogy and I loved it. I am new to this genre. I didn't think it was for me but this author changed that. This book takes place 17 yrs after the first book, Red on the Run and it has it all, Intrigue, suspense and romance. It is intense and emotional. You'll feel the full spectrum from love to hate, happiness to sadness. Again, as with the first, it is a roller coaster ride, so buckle your seat belts and be prepared to want to read from start to finish in one sitting.
