2.0 out of 5 starsOk little story

The heroine started getting on my nerves towards the end. Which led to a dislike for her character. Her moral superiority was a turn off. She runs away in a fit of anger......and she had several fits of anger! The hero was typical but a bit much in his ADORATION of Hestia. This is one of those stories where they act or say something hateful and then a day or so later, realize they acted wrongly. She'd stomp off mad and he'd apologize/explain only to do it again in the next chapter. The villain was a surprise. Worth an ok 99¢ read. Typical.
While this book was not as good as the first in the series, it was better than the 2nd. I loved the hero and I liked how he knew from almost the beginning that he loved her. She was sweet and strong willed too. She made him work for his HEA. The mystery surrounding her Father's death was just a little too weak. The ending was rushed and I really would have liked this to be a little longer and more detailed. I will read this author again. I really like her heroes. And heroines. Very unique group. I think there are more left in the series too with Captain Black and Polly. Looking forward to it.

After the death of Miss Hestia’s father, she changes her name and becomes a companion. Alexander, the Marquess of Falconbridge, is intrigued by her and is determined to marry her. As the story unfolds and her true father’s identity is revealed with the help of Alexander.
Witty dialogue, entertaining with some twists and turns. Just wished the story was a little bit longer and had better developed secondary characters.
5.0 out of 5 starsWonderful addition to Reluctant Regency Brides series

Sweet story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading! I read it in a day as I couldn't put it down. However, I did start getting upset with Hestia/Belinda's behavior towards the Marquess, Alex. Her mother said not to marry for love even though he was probably in love with Hestia from the beginning. So why did she push him away. He obviously would always provide her with the financial benefits her mother never had, yet she was never happy to see him. Otherwise it was a wonderful book with an unexpected twist at the end!
I enjoyed this one more than the last one in this series. It is chock full of writing errors though. Author really needs a proof reader who knows grammar , spelling and punctuation. Adding missing words wouldn't hurt either.
But the story, it's flow and, finally, a bit more character depth was great.

I always enjoy novels from this era, so even though the story is not that different from many, it was still GOOD. It is well written and described - taking the reader into the pages and making them feel the drama of that time. I enjoyed reading how two people found love in each other.
This sweet and clean Regency mystery and romance with a lovely cover was a relatively short but entertaining read. It did have some twists and turns throughout with a surprise ending. Recommended for those who enjoy a quick read relating to this era.
I really enjoyed this story. I am so grateful to the author for this story is clean and wholesome. I didn't have to stop reading because of the bad language or explicit sex scenes. I was able finish and enjoy without worrying about what I would come across.

I loved this book, another great addition to the Reluctant Regency Brides series. Claudia Stone is such a descriptive writer, I felt as though I was in the moment with the characters. Lots of twists and turns in the storyline, and as usual, strong female characters - which appear to be the author's forte. I'm hoping that there are going to be more books in this series, as I have some questions about minor characters that have been left unanswered and I'm dying to know more about their backstories!
