Real estate agent Geraldine Jones is trying to sell an old drive-in that burned down in the 50s. As she’s showing the building to a prospective buyer, she can’t help but wonder what would it have been like to have seen it in its hay day.
Somehow, magically, she actually gets that chance, and she meets Hot Rod Carvelle, a 19-year-old high school senior that hits on her. She wants him, despite the 12 year age difference, but just as she’s getting to know him, she gets catapulted back to her time. She has to get back somehow to see Roddy again, and to warn him and the others about the fire so they won't suffer the same fate again.
The imagery in this story is so vivid. I can see the old cars and neon lights, and can almost hear Elvis playing in the background. I just want to peak into the mind of the author, her ideas for stories are fabulous!
