I have LOVED Meghan March’s books in the past and would definitely recommend the “Beneath” series as well as the “Savage Trilogy” and the “Anti Heroes Collection”. Those are definitely optimum beach reads, with scorchingly hot heroes, admirable heroines and most importantly, a plot that keeps you engaged! This book seemed to be unflavored stew of all of the trite plot elements that are the minimum expected for this genre.
1. Rich, hot hero who falls into insta love/lust with our heroine. Can’t forget her, willing to fight the world for her, but not really.
2. Poor, beautiful heroine who falls into insta love/lust with our hero, but wait....she’s a walking disaster of unrealized potential and whines about it internally often! Oh, and don’t forget the multi-generational family feud on both sides.
3. Family drama all around their relationship, including the heroines dead rock star husband (really???), who his fans believe she drove to his death. (Must have been all the whining).
I hate to rate this book poorly, since I truly love this author, but this is NOT representative of her previous thoughtful, well written offerings.
