While I agree this is a fun read and well written, my main gripe is that while it is marketed as a trilogy, it also says it's the first book of a series.
It's not. Series are generally stand alone stories with the same major protagonists. This is the first book of a serial, that is, an ongoing story which requires you to get all three books if you want to get to the end of it.
I admit to feeling fairly cheated when I finished this first book, with no resolution. It's a ploy used by many writers these days I'm afraid, so I'm not going to be sucked into buying the others.
This is a pity, as I liked the style of the book well enough, and may have bought others by this author had I not felt hoodwinked.
You can argue it's my own fault for not being sufficiently observant about it being a trilogy, but I do think the serial nature of these books needs to be made more apparent.
