4.0 out of 5 starsHow does a Princess Win Over her Security Chief?
Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2017
Our heroine, Princess Ellaria, is the second oldest of three royal children. In this story, Ellaria is betrothed to Damian, a king from another country in order to solidify an alliance between their two countries. Her older brother, Antone, who is about to become king, should have been the one, but now the responsibility is on Ellaria. Her younger sister, Regianna, is constantly trying to play matchmaker for Ellaria when Damian when he and his family come for the coronation of the new king. Right after, Ellaria is expected to depart with Damian to marry him.
As royals growing up, for security reasons, the only "friends" they had were children of the palace staff, including Luca, son of the Captain of the Guard (head of security) and our Hero. With her departure imminent, Ellaria is desperate to create a one time memory with Luca. Because this story is told from a dual perspective, we know the inner struggle Luca has in fighting his feelings for Ellaria since he is beneath "her (royal) station". They eventually cave in to their desire for one another acknowledging they will never be able to be together again after her marriage.
I enjoyed the story and the author did a good job relaying the characters' respective frustrations with their no-win situation. I'm surprised Ellaria, being a very smart and resourceful 26 year old had not somehow figure out a way to break down Luca until now, but I guess that's part of the story. Additionally, there were hints at a possible solution that would enable them to have their HEA. And though that solution did come to fruition, no pertinent details were supplied that would have made it a better ending...which is why I gave it 3 1/2 stars.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Ellaria is princess of Napoline. Her brother is about to be king and she is set to marry the King of Tripole. She doesn’t want to but it is her duty. After her brother broke off his engagement to the princess of Tripole, they had to do something to keep the peace between the two countries, so Ellaria is now expected to marry the King. Luca is the head of security and grew up the the prince and princesses. He has always loved Ellaria but knows he cannot have her. It is killing him to know she will be gone soon and in the arms of another man. When their affair becomes known her brother, the King, sends Luca away and tells Ellaira the wedding is still going to happen. Will they both get their happily ever after or will they both be miserable?Great story. Ellaira is beautiful and feisty. Luca is handsome and a protector. I almost cried. It is told in third person with both point of views told. The sex is very hot.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Great read. The author did a great job showing both views of Luca and Ella. She was the third child of the king of Napoline. Her brother was next in line to marry but his arranged marriage fell thru. It was up to Ella now, she didn't want to be married to Damien who she was arranged to marry. she wanted Luca. Luca was her childhood friend, son of the Guard and now her bodyguard. Will she and Luca come to an agreement or will she marry Damien?

This was a quick and easy read with well-developed characters and some steamy scenes. This story follows pretty much where the first book “Seduced by the Stranger” ends. Ellaria has loved Luca forever. She is a princess and Luca is the head of her security. Ellaria is betrothed to Damian, a king from another country in order to solidify an alliance between their two countries. Will she marry Damien or will she and Luca come to an agreement and have their HEA?
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This book was very entertaining... It made me laugh a lot throughout the book... Because thinking of a princess trying to pursue her bodyguard that was well beneath her is one thing that some people don't realize she doesn't have the freedom to do on her own... Because she is expected to marry any man that will help our country... it made me cry a lot of the time also because she couldn't have the one thing that she truly wanted and that was her sexy bodyguard... And but of course he really wanted her to even out he tried to say he didn't... The storyline to this book was fantastic and spontaneous... The characters was intriguing and interesting... I'm going to recommend this book to all of my friends...

It must be really difficult to have to put duty first when presented with a mouth watering man who you want to devour. Do you do your duty or do you do your security chief? That is the question.
I know what my answer would be and it has nothing to do with my country.
This story is not something I've seen before since I mainly read other types of romance. I enjoyed this, however, and the heat between the princess and her protector is hot.
I highly recommend this book and this author to romance fans who would like a little more to the story.

#PersuadingHerProtector #NetGalley -I loved the way Ellaria and Luca grew up together but each in their own corner of the ring. -There was no surprise at the end but it was fun getting there. -More suspense in this book because of the treason threat. -I would have loved to see more of the couple outside the bedroom. -I wonder if King Damian deduced more than he was telling. He also had more time to know Regianna better than Ellaria since she was passing more time with him. -Editing still needs a pass but it was better done in this book than in the previous one.
