My heart is SOARING. Is this really the last Jessie book? :(
No, it just can't be. Please write a bunch more, because I LOVE cheeky and wild girl Jessie. I love her glitter hollywood world (It has got an EXTRA bucket of glitter in this book. Seriously the glamour is really shining through) I love the tension – who is a friend, who to trust, what do people mean etc.
I love the romance! What not to love about the first love with it's sexual tensions eh eh? I felt my cheeks turning red during some of the pages. It really gets hot at some point. *fan self*
Jessie is still in the making. It's only a year since her mom passed away, and even less since she got to know who her dad was. He has always been the thing her mom never talked about, and Jessie feared that she would never get to know who he is. Stu, her stepdad, tells her about him because Jessie is in grief, and not dealing with it in a healty way. Her dad is the famous rockstar Johnny Jefferson.
In book three Jessie has taken the decision to live with Johnny. To get him and his family to know better. It means that she will begin in a new school – the kind where all the students are celebrities – and she will begin a daily life.
My head was spinning with all the things and projects she begins – driver lessons, exams, new friends, her family, boys(!) and no least her favorite the music. She has joined a indie rock band, and she just loves it. It's what she imagine herself do for a living and she really show her skills in this book.
Jessie's journey has been really exciting to follow!
Jessie is not only in that part of life between kid and adult, she also has two personalities that she has to come to terms with. There is her mom's world where she is Jessie Pickerill, a girl who had very little, but had all she needed – a loving mom and her friends.
Vs. her dad's world where she is Jessie Jefferson, the daughter of a famous rockstar, living in a world with glitter and gossip, and where if you dare your dreams can come true.
She still has a foot in each of the worlds, and it was great to see her find her footing.
Some of my favorite scenes in this book is; Tom visiting (I love that boy), Jack vs. Tom. The Dana situations (yes THE Dana. You will know who I mean if you have read Baby be Mine. Book 2 of Johnny & Meg's story if you are new to their world) And finally the dear – but oh so irresponsible - Gramps babysitting. What is it they say; the parents away, the teenagers......
There's lots of fun things happening in this series. A perfect summer read.
