5.0 out of 5 stars 5+ Excellent

5+ Excellent. Lorhainne Eckhart is a must buy, must read author.
Compelling storyline and easy to follow. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Informative, entertaining and realistic dialogue.

Real-life thoughts:
Although Walker knew how to fu@@ and had driven Kate wild with a night of the kind of sex she’d never dreamed of having, he was the same as every other man she’d dated. Correction—she hadn’t dated Walker, she’d fu@@ed him, and he’d have been the first to correct her. It was sex, so she shouldn’t call it anything other than what it really was.

Plus Ms. Eckhart provides incredibly easy access to download other books at the end. Click on the link, choose your device and it is immediately available for reading.

I will re-read this book and always look forward to, pre-order when possible, works by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars when love strikes unexpectedly
Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2020
Edge of Night is the second book in the "Kate and Walker: Deadly Dangerous and Desired" series.
After being saved from a stalker by Detective Walker Pruett and a subsequent night with the most amazing sex ever, Kate is secretly convinced to have found the man of her dreams. She quickly learns however, that, their great chemistry notwithstanding, he is not exactly husband material, confirmed by the fact that she hasn't seen him since. That is, until they accidentally meet again when he is investigating a string of robberies at the hotel where she works. Despite her previous humiliation, sparks immediately fly. For Walker, the encounter is initially about sex , whereas Kate has fallen in love with him and wants what he is not willing to give- commitment. When the robberies turn into homicide and Kate solves the case at the expense of her job, their connection takes an unexpected turn...
I loved this one! The slow evolution of Kate and Walker's relationship from non-committal sex to an emotional involvement; their volatile dynamic is wonderfully portrayed. At the same time , this development is paired with an intriguing crime, which makes the plot eventful, all the more as the case takes an unexpected turn . I had the feeling that there was more to the crime than meets the eye, but alas, that was not to be. An emotional, steamy, yet suspenseful read I enjoyed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating and Disappointing
Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2020
An I missing something here? This book occurred a few weeks after Walker and Kate's initial meeting. Kate gets caught up in a case that Walker is investigating.

Once again, Kate is completely reckless. Her recklessness ends up costing her. Walker had tried to protect her, and tried to warn her. She just runs off with no thought to her behavior other than she is right.

What I don't understand is the book ends, and there are all of these loose ends in the case? What was up with Keith's 180° change in attitude? What made Tony react the way he did? What is really going on at the hotel? Wasn't Kate's reaction to what happened extreme? Then, when she makes a major decision after only 2 or 3 days, she ends up doing a complete about face.

Although this book seemed to be longer, and Kate mostly kept her clothes in one piece, it was left too unfinished for me. Kate is entirely too flighty. Walker is stepping back from his phobia about commitment, and the entire situation is silly.

I'm glad I read this from the complete collection book. I would not have been happy if I had purchased these individually.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good addition to the series
Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2019
After listening to book 1 in the series, I wasn’t sure about the series, especially since it was a little different than other stories by this talented author. I am very glad I decided to give it another chance.
I really enjoyed book 2.
Book one introduced us to Detective Walker Pruit and hotel assistant manager Kate Sikes and the crazy way they met.
In this story, a shaky relation begins to blossom. But this new relation is something neither expected and very confusing for Walker, who never thought he would get serious with a woman.
When Kate gets involved in an investigation, things get out of control. Will they be able to handle to aftermath or will they each go their separate ways?
This story is filled with whodunit, good and bad guys, and of course romance. I am looking forward to

5.0 out of 5 stars Kate and Walker, Part 2
Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2020
It has been one month since Kate and Walker spent one erotic night together. When she doesn’t hear from him, she realizes that he is a one-night man. While working the desk at the hotel, she is shocked to see Walker enter the hotel. Was he looking for her? It seems there have been several robberies of men who have stayed at the hotel and he is working the case. How can she bear to have him near again when she knows that she could so easily fall in love with him? An emotional roller coaster for Kate and decisions to be made by Walker as they are both strong characters in their own way. Will he realize in time that he is interested in more than one night with her before it is too late? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. 5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read once again in the story of Kate and Walker
Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2020
Kate hasn't heard a word from Walker since their one night of passion. Then he appears in the hotel where she works. He is working on a case involving the hotel. Kate is with Walker when they come across a body in an alley near the hotel and then gets involved in the investigation. One very hot detective. One beautiful hotel receptionist. One very hot night. Will there be another one? Such a terrific continuation of Kate and Walker's story and about to dive into the next one.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
