2.0 out of 5 starsMaybe look at a map?

I am happy to ignore plot holes and mistakes by lots of self-published romance writers and I certainly don’t expect heavily researched details throughout. But when most of your book takes place in a foreign country, maybe just a quick check of the map before you start? First, I got stuck on why any ship would take 28 days to get to Puerto Rico from anywhere on the US east coast. It’s a 2-day trip max. Then I couldn’t understand why Colombia would be a good place for an emergency stop off BEFORE they got to Puerto Rico — since it is really out of the way. Then the author seemed to think Columbia was a city (in Columbia?) and that Bogota is a just cab ride away from the shipping docks on the coast? It is an airline flight from the Caribbean coast to Bogota or a very very long drive. Swan has the lovers dashing between the ship docked in “Colombia” to and from Bogota by taxi repeatedly as if it were a ride across town. Just look at a map!! Lots of other editing and dialogue mistakes — American thugs talking like Aussies, ridiculous coincidences, impossible luck. All of this is too distracting from the story and really gets in the way.

This is the first book I read by this author and I bought it because the reviews are very positive, but I was confused by so many things. The writing is not focused, for example they are lying on the bed but in the next line they're sitting in the dining area. It's unclear who says what sometimes, but that could be the editing as well. Also, I'm also not sure what Rochelle's deal is. Her emotions are all over the place. I couldn't finish the book I'm afraid.
This is my first book by T.L. Swan and what really captured my attention was the the blurb. It sounds like it was going to be a pretty dark read and I'm a sucker for the dark books. I will admit that it didn't turn out quite as dark as I was anticipating and I think I never really got over that. So while my rating may be 3 stars, it's simply because of that. So don't let it fool you. I did enjoy it, I just wanted more.
I will say this, while it wasn't as dark as I was expecting, it certainly kept you guessing. There were a lot of surprises and we are constantly left thinking who did what and who is who. The connections that these characters end up having are all caught up in one big spiderweb.
I went back and forth with Mac. He was so dark and appealing in the beginning and then his feelings towards Rosh changed and he became almost a different person. Although there were still traces of the dangerous man he really is, I wanted to see a bit more of that. Even after he fell for Rosh.
I did really like Rosh. She isn't at all what you think she would be. She's kidnapped but from the beginning she was full of strength and fight and she's actually way more intelligent that we are led to believe at first. She was fun to follow throughout the entire story and her bravery was commendable.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and I look forward to more from T.L. Swan. If you are looking for a good mind chaser that keeps you guessing and an epic love story, then this is the book for you.
5.0 out of 5 starsRoller coaster ride of emotions and story with many twists and turns!

I stumbled upon a TL Swan book not long ago (Stanton series) and she has now become my #1 one-click author with any book she writes. She is a writer who gives you a completely different story with every single book she writes! This book is a roller coaster ride of suspense and just when you think you have figured it out the story goes another direction with a new twist. I loved Mac and Rosh and their motto to "live every day like it's your last". Rosh is strong and brave despite everything that has happened throughout her life. Mac is the smokin' HOT bad boy hero and the two of them together is a beautiful story. As with all of TL's books you will experience every emotion from happiness to anger and also find yourself laughing out loud at her humor in this story. As with other TL Swan books this will be one I will reread many times to come!
4.0 out of 5 starsVery intriguing steamy type of mystery thriller read!

Love T.L. Swan's novels. Play Along was a more deeper, darker story involving organized crime, cruel acts, and seedy characters. Of course, our female lead and our alpha male were hot for each other, but not at first...which made for such a great read. A few typos, a few repeated sex acts, but overall a good one.

This gives you the impression of a dark, dark romance. Of rape that turns into want, on both sides. Which I'm sure turns off some people before they even reach for it. But it's so much more. It's a beautiful romance with intrigue, suspense and a deep love that you can feel pulsating off the page. I highly recommend this sexy nonstop read!

I really enjoyed this read and found myself reading whenever I had time. I was totally thrown off on who was who for a while. Trying to figure out the twists T writes doesn't work. Her writing will keep you guessing over and over again. I kept thinking one was a cop, but couldn't tell which one. In the end, they are each other's soulmates. What a journey you take when you read this one! Definitely laugh out loud moments but some that keep you on the edge of your seat. A must read. Bonus points for the excerpt of Dr Stanton! I cannot wait to get my hands on that one!!
OMG!! I loved this book from TL Swan. I was held captive & mesmerised every step of the way. I loved the Stanton series & knew when I saw this release it was going to be good, but it was better than good, it was spectacular. I would recommend this book in a heartbeat & a definite 5 star read! Then a fabulous tease at the end of the book of her new book Dr Stanton & it blew my mind as well. Bring on August for this new release, I can't wait!
PLAY ALONG by T.l Swan is full of angst, danger, twists and turns I was completely hooked, mesmerised and I loved the audio version of this book, the Narrators really brought the characters to life and made some of the scenes more intense.
Roshina has a sneaky suspicion that her best friend and her boyfriend of a few years are doing the dirty on her and when they both tell her they are away for the night, her boyfriend with work and her best friend with something else, she knows they are both sneaking away together for a night and she does what any suspicious woman would do, follows them to see her herself. Roshina discovers them both in a nightclub grinding on each other and after a confrontation rushes out back of the club and witnesses a murder.
Roshina is a witness, she is kidnapped, talk about going from one bad situation from another but this is only the beginning of Roshina's nightmare when she finds her self on a container ship full of randy hungry men and criminals.
It isn't nice reading about rape or attempted rape so the beginning of this book is a bit gruesome although Mac did come to her rescue and claim her for himself and to survive her time on the ship for weeks they had to play along and let the others believe they were together.
Mac is the men in charge of the ships cargo, he holds power on board but he has his own hidden agenda's for being there and in the process of his mission he becomes close to Rochelle, the woman he kidnapped to ultimately save. They both end up saving each other down the line and in the process find love
The plan was for Rochelle to leave as soon as they docked but things don't exactly go to plan in this book full of surprising twists and turns.
An unconventional love story, filled with suspense, thrills, and a roller coaster journey to a hea. Told in first person dual pov. I enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone who likes something with a bit more on the edgy and on the dangerous side.
This was the first book I've read from this author and even though I loved most of it I felt like a chunk of the book was missing. I would have given it 5 stars if the first few chapters were explained as to why stace/mac treated Rosh so badly at the beginning, I know it was said he kidnapped her to save her but that was all the explanation we got. What about who was the man they murdered and why did he let the men beat her up if he was trying to save her, also why wasn't it explained as to why he stripped her naked and tied her spread eagled on the bed and supposedly did things to her while she was unconscious and also spoke to her like she was a sex slave?? Also if he was trying to save her then why did he stay in bed 10 mins while they were attacking her. All the way through the book I thought it was all going to be explained but the only thing said was he saved her and I felt disappointed that was the only explanation we got because after that he transformed into a different man and we saw a different side to which was lovely and I loved the banter between the 2 of them and I really believed their love story but I just can't get the beginning out of my head on how he treated her. I will give the other books a go though
Can I just say at the start....I did like this read but did not love this read?? Having just finished the Stanton box set and Dr Stanton with epilogue! The bar was set high..... in true TL Swan style the characters were hot and I did feel the connection but! And there is a but..... the start of this read made me really uncomfortable, I can see why! I can (sort of) understand why, but! I just felt uncomfortable! How can someone fall in love in these circumstances? That being said I truly did enjoy this read, the chemistry was hot, the sex was volcanic and I do love a HEA.....

What I love about TL Swan is that all her books are completely different yet all have her signature captivating writing style. This book is full on, fast paced, sexy hot, all consuming and had me on the edge of my seat. As I read I could feel the characters, and see them like I was there, gosh it would make an excellent movie, this so needs to happen! Congrats and thank you TL Swan, you've given us yet another 5 star read!! Oh and now, after reading the bonus chapter at the end of the book, I'm desperate for more Dr Cameron Stanton!! TL is one of a few authors I will now automatically one click as I KNOW I wouldn't be disappointed.

I have read most of T.j swans books the last few months while on maternity leave, and this one is my favourite so far. At first I was getting bad vibes with the whole kidnapping thing but then the story sort of takes a turn and it’s got so much more to it that the other books which are all hard to put down anyway. This book for me had more suspense and depth to the story so made it my favourite
