**I received an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
It's been a while since we first met Ford Daniels in Friction (Leary's story), but The Pecker Briefs was definitely worth the wait! It's not necessary to have read Friction, but I think it does help because it gives you some backstory.
Ford Daniels is a partner at Knight & Payne law firm and his current case is beyond anything he could have imagined. When he gets a call from his client that his multi-million dollar project is potentially going to be put on hold, he's thinking it won't be too difficult to get things worked out, but that's before he realizes that the reason - endangered peckers - woodpeckers that is. And, there may be another complication, in the form of a drop dead gorgeous woman...
Viveka Jones is much more than meets the eye. Sure, she's model beautiful and she's an accomplished lawyer, but she's also smart as a whip, funny and charming. She has a way of drawing people in just by being who she is. She's learned that following her heart is the best thing she could do for herself, which is how she ended up as an animal rights lawyer and involved in this case with the endangered woodpeckers.
When Ford and Viveka meet, while it's under interesting circumstances, the chemistry between them is undeniable. While they are on different sides of this case, can they separate work from personal and actually make something work between them? Especially when Ford has never been a relationship guy?
I really enjoyed the strong characters that Sawyer Bennett created, but also the story as a whole. It was different than anything I've read for a long time, which was refreshing for me and it flowed so effortlessly. It had moments of heart, of reflection and it definitely tickled the funny bone!
If you haven't read the Legal Affairs series, you should rectify that and then add this one to your to be read pile as well!
