I really liked this book. The main reason, Wayne Stinnett is a masterful storyteller. The book is not without it's flaws and some of those flaws are due to my perception. And I will mention those flaws first, the book was too short, second the ending was rushed and third, I found it hard to believed that a seasoned operative would be deceived as he was at the bar, it just did seem out of character for him. All that being said, the story still hangs tight and is truly enjoyable as the story progressed. I have been reading Mr. Stinnett since the first book in the McDermitt series as well as the first book in the Styles series. I find that most of novels under 300 pages are really too short, not all but most. To me, his style works better with the longer length and generally speaking the ending does not seem rushed at this length.
The reason I gave this novel 5 stars instead of 4 is that plain and simple, it is a very good read. Lots of action, lots of information, lot of character exploring/revealing and is in the category of "just one more chapter"! Five stars to me means I would really recommend this book,I might very well read it again and would have it in my permanent library.
