Hall writes an action-packed romance that had me swiping pages to the very end. I liked how the attraction between Lexi and Brayden built in a realistic way. I wanted them to have a happily-ever-after. There is a lot of drama and tension at the end of this novel but it was thrilling without keeping me up at night. I'll be looking for more stories from this author.

Suspense, crime, family and romance all come together to create this story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. In this story you will meet Lexi who hires a private detective named Brayden to look into her brothers death. Everyone but her seems to accept that it was accidental but the facts just don't add up. And as Brayden begins to investigate, he agrees. In fact he discovers truths about Lexis family that he's not sure how to tell her. And even before he gets a chance Lexi is sent to Rio by her father and Brayden is sure she is in danger so he meets her there. Together they are up against some serious criminals and the question becomes whether either one of them will make it out alive. Yet the bright spot of the story is the relationship that begins to develop between Lexi and Brayden. Do they have a chance with the overwhelming odds against them? Very good read, just enough suspense to keep you reading, and just enough romance to cause the reader to root for them. My favorite thing about this book was the clear presentation of the gospel and the transformation that takes place in Lexis life. She starts off as a person who attended church in the past and ends as a young lady who realizes God is real and very personal and desires a personal relationship with her.
Ransom in Rio by Theresa Lynn Hall is a book in the Passport to Romance series. At the beginning of this book, Lexi is coming to terms with the death of her brother after his funeral. But she has more questions than answers. Together with a private investigator, she begins to investigate and finds way more than she bargained for. This is a fun, fast read. You won't be able to put it down once you start! I highly recommend this as a fun summer or weekend read. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher. These opinions are entirely my own.
