I absolutely unequivocally loved this book!!!! Once I started it I did not want to put it down!!! At 2AM I was up reading it even though I had to get up in the morning early.... But who needs sleep I decided!!! This storyline was one of the cleverest I have ever read.... I adored the way Christie Craig kept us on pins and needles with the twists and turns.... The suspense of what was going to happen next never let up.... I got so anxious I wanted to do a no-no and turn to the last couple of pages to make sure it ended the way I wanted it to.... Which, of course, it did. Exactly, wonderfully, and with an epilogue that was so heartwarming and touching it made me want to do a happy dance. I have almost 3,000 e-books but I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable, endearing, funny, sweet, sexy, riveting and perfect books! If you are looking for a great read that will make you swoon, laugh, hold your breath and just totally entertain you for hours I highly recommend you give this gem a try!!!!😊
I like this author just not a fan of this series and this last booked my least favorite of the three.I didn't get the humor in this book at all, it was either me or the book and after reading other reviews I'm going for the book. So much time was spent jumping from all the different characters I didn't remember who the story was about! I don't mind when books have a secondary couple but this book didn't do it the right way. Getting into what's going on for one couple and then it switches to another character I just didn't want to keep up, to much going on. Also and this will be a spoiler but at the end when Kathy finds out she is pregnant was so unbelievable I couldn't get past it. First there was no way they didn't even finish and second there was like a week after it happened she finds out she is pregnant? Never have I heard of that early being able to find out. Just not my favorite Craig book but I will keep reading her.
I had to stay with this from the beginning to the end. Read it straight through until 3:15 this morning! All the elements were there, suspense, mystery, action, steamy romance, and humor. It's the kind of story you have to pay attention to, not that it's confusing, but there's so much going on that if you don't actually 'read' it, you lose out! The characters, and there are several to pay attention to, are well described as is their place in the drama. There are sexual situations, not a lot, but a few that are explicit. I'm not a prude, I don't mind some of it as long as it doesn't take away from the actual story line. Maybe a little here and there gets heavy but they are easily skipped if you'd rather not read it. I skimmed some of them just so I could get into the action happening around the 2 main characters. Kathy and Stan/Luke have so many interactions that go from flirting to danger to anger and desperate escapes that it's hard to believe the author could actually insert humor into those situations and keep the flow going! I'm still laughing at some of the things that happened. The guy in the port-a-potty still has me laughing. The club that Kathy and her two married and pregnant friends have, discussing men in general, just the idea of a club like that has me smiling. I found myself actually worrying about one of the "bad" guys, Joey, and what was going to happen with him. I so thoroughly enjoyed this story I will most certainly read it again. Lots of action going on throughout the story, it's such a good read. I will most certainly recommend this to others that like a good combination of action, fun, suspense, and a fair amount of romance involved. Kudos to this author!
I first read this book years ago when it first released. I have intended to reread the whole series several times, but haven’t until now. I remember this particular book in the series because it has the best multi-level HEA ever.
Stan Bradley, plumber…aka Luke Hunter, FBI agent…has been chasing and trying to romance Kathy Callahan for more than two years. There is flirting and sexual tension, but every time Luke is ready to lean on in and take it further, Kathy backs off. Luke knows he might have to leave his “Stan” persona behind at any time, so he doesn’t press, just bides his time. What he doesn’t know is that Kathy has her own secrets, secrets that led her straight to Sue and Lacy and their Divorced, Desperate and Delicious Club where they swore to leave men alone forever.
When Kathy changes her mind and decides to give herself permission to enjoy what “Stan” has to offer..without starting a relationship…her decision to drop in on Stan plops her straight into a flight for her life. And boy, oh boy, she is pissed off! She blames Stan/Luke for the mess they’re in, for lying to her and being a cop. She does not like cops. She has her reasons, and they are doozies!
If you’re a fan of rollicking good adventures, this book, this series will make you a happy reader! Christie Craig the best at creating strong, interesting characters, putting them in danger, getting them out again while ramping up the sexual tension and providing hilarity along the way! Also, in this story, there is the redemption of a bad guy. Grab a copy…wait, grab the whole series!!…and…
I hadn't read the first two books but didn't need to. Kathy has been lusting after her plummer, Stan, for a couple of years. Now her son is away with his father she finally decides to act. Except Stan is Luke, and his undercover life is about to end. Kathy gets mixed up in his life just as the past comes back to bite him. Kathy has a few secrets of her own. A good read, some humour and a great ending.

The portrayal of women in this book is really depressing, saying that I might be wrong as I couldn’t get past the first few chapters, but I don’t care to find out any character development tbh. Women who need men to function on 100% make me sad.
