This story of two poor unfortunate orphans, Paul and Jubilee, begins to tug at your heart in the first chapter. The children's journey to find their only known relative leads them to Wyattsville where we met Olivia Doyle and her adopted grandson, Ethan Allen, in the Award-Winning Novel "Spare Change". Since Ethan Allen and Grandma Olivia know a thing or two about lost children, they quickly become attached to the irresistible character, Jubilee, while helping her search for her brother and find an aunt she's never met. Olivia and Ethan Allen rally together the lovable force of crime stoppers who helped them solve the mysteries surrounding the murders in "Spare Change" to change the minds of those set on convicting an innocent boy of a crime unknown to him.
Every time I read a novel by this author, I say that it's my favorite. But in my opinion "Jubilee's Journey" is the best book Crosby has written. The plot is deeper and the characters are more alive than ever. Ms. Crosby's Southern charm and quick-witted metaphor is the trademark that has made her a best-selling author. I highly recommend "Jubilee's Journey" for a heart warming tale that shows that we're all human and that there's always room for love even in the coldest, hardest hearts. Jubilee's story begins with heartache and ends on a high note that propels us to the future of our favorite Wyattsville characters.
