I learned of this book on Goodreads and read it with Kindle Unlimited. It was another great read that took less than 90 minutes. There was less action, but somehow I liked it better than the first book. I truly wish the author made his books longer. They're so good that it's depressing they end so quickly. Always leaves me wanting more. The rest of my review will have spoilers.
I loved how Abram wanted to avenge his father yet somehow became a hero to the man that killed him.
Lynad's bombs were great. I was so excited to see them put to use. Especially since they led to the death of a named character. Often people with names only die in one on one sword fights.
The king's politics keep me guessing.
The bombs seem too big. Killing 10,000 soldiers at one time is a huge explosion. I'm an explosive ordnance disposal officer, so I have some knowledge in this area.
Cecracy was the best character in book one. His absence was painful. I hope he comes back in book three.
This book his part of a series. The individual stories are only partially standalone.
