Daisy is surprised when a woman who attended the same school writes and asks to see her in London. She is even more surprised when the friend, Sybil, asks her to visit her at the farm estate where she lives, serving as a secretary to the estate owner, who is a well known writer of pulp westerns. Sybil says that something evil is happening, although she is unable to describe exactly what is happening. Daisy, knowing that she is not officially a detective, but also that she loves mysteries agrees to drive up for a short visit. And then it all starts . . .
Another solid book in this series. If you have liked them in the past, this is a satisfying read. If you're new, this is a good one to start with: you'll not be overwhelmed with all the usual cast of characters because Daisy is out of town, and it's nice to see her more on her own.
