This book is very well written and the passion the author has for this subject shines through, which to me makes all the difference, as I feel she really cares about helping people.
It’s definitely not just another cut-and-save type of book. Don’t get me wrong, as I’m sure many others can attest to, it does deliver a wealth of very solid advice on how to make drastic changes in your spending habits and provide great advice on how to save money in a variety of areas.
Minimalism is not about paring things to the bone but rather about paring things to just the level they need to be to still keep a grin on your face. Everyone knows how to avoid spending money, how to go for the cheapest option and generally scrimp and save - but this book explains something quite different. It explains how to live a life of quality with minimised outgoings. The concept is a rather groovy one, but the delivery is pragmatic and very much real-world.
