Although romance novels are not my usual genre, I was immersed in this poignant story of Cassie and Paul's love affair, not because it was unique, but because of the wonderful 1961 AL settings and atmosphere, which was so wonderfully conjured up by the author.
The story was a light, easy read, which was just what I needed for the beach. There was great sensitivity in the way in which Mr Jones depicted Paul's emotional conflicts and, to a certain extent, his damaged soul. Cassie's guilt, and the moral dilemmas that faced her were brought to life with both realistic plots and smooth well written pages that flowed all the way through.
A recommended read for lovers of romance with a little twist.
