I have mixed feelings about this book. At times, the writing was really good, and then the next, I felt like I was reading a bad fan-fiction of Sons of Anarchy. The insta-attraction between Cole and Angel was just ridiculous and so far fetched it bordered on insulting, not to mention the lack of safe sex. I mean come on, Angel had just been raped and kidnapped, (think you might want to get tested?) and Cole obviously slept around too (warning bells) but yet they just went at it. And then Cole's marriage.. seriously? He meets someone and gets married in the short time him and Angel were apart after he agonized about his feelings for Angel? It made me nuts. A good editor also might have picked up on all the grammatical errors and the fact AZ is not "across the country" from CA. I received this book as a free download but I don't think I will be reading anymore in the series.

I would love to give this book more stars. James has created an MC world with depth, humor and grit.
And I would, except for the completely unrealistic way the heroine's rape and then immediate sexual attraction to the hero are written. WTH!! I really, really wish the author had read up on rape trauma and its effects before writing. She writes as if the heroine had just been kidnapped and missed her supper, instead of being terrified, brutalized and starved for days.
The hero is a fun, bad ass MC alpha, and the chit-chat between the MC brothers is hilarious. So if you can get past the flaws, it's a good read.
Also wish the author would hire an editor who knows her homonyms, which are comically misused throughout the series, as are the different uses of the words lay/lie/laid.
5.0 out of 5 starsAwesome to say the least! A review from someone that doesn't write them!

Let me find the words...(NO SPOILERS HERE!) I love to read! My guilty pleasure is MC romance. I'm picky and take the time to search for the right books and stories. I rarely (only a few times) leave a review so this might say just how much I do love the Evil Dead MC stories! I don't typically like to read a series of books or feel that I need to. I prefer stand-alones in case I lose interest for whatever reason and don't want to feel there's a commitment involved by choosing a book in a series. This is the first time (and that's saying a lot) that I have read 5 SO FAR (in order) and by the 3rd book I was already thinking there's no need to download a "sample" and I also didn't feel the need to read the book's description. Just 1-click purchase and jump right in, because I'm going to read it anyway! Nicole James really knows how to bring out the characters and draws you...no sucks you right in! In no time at all you feel you KNOW these people personally...or at least you're in the same room as them and watching their stories and life play out. Descriptive enough to see in your mind but never too wordy that you get lost in explanations and have to swim back to the point. I ALWAYS looked forward to sitting down (or standing) to get back into each book and story! I love romance...I love drama...I love REAL characters. I tolerate a good romance with some corniness but if you're reading this, I'm telling you that you won't find lame or corny in these romance stories. Nicole James simply flows along in her writing style...you can actually HEAR the characters speak (or think)...they're believable and real. It takes a talented author to make you really feel you KNOW the characters you're reading about. Huge fan! These stories from this series can be read as stand-alone...BUT...to feel the full experience I highly recommend that if you plan to read them to do so in order...again, you don't have to...but since they're that good you might as well. The characters in these stories are mentioned in all the books and you get to know them in each book but when it's THEIR story, you really get to know them! It's been fun and a pleasure to follow them and even learn to like them, if not love them, even more when you're not sure if you think you do or not. I have my favorites but you'll find your own. Yes, I'm rambling and that's maybe why I don't write reviews but listen...if you're reading a review to decide if you want to read the books...then you're already interested! Go for it! You won't regret it! Thanks Nicole James for coming to my home to share your stories! Love them! Will definitely be looking for more by Nicole James.
Angel and Cole are one of my favorite couples especially since their journey was NOT an easy one. First, it must be said that I think Mack was turdburger and he deserved a swift kick in the man parts for what he did, but I'm sure it will come eventually.
Now like said Cole and Angel's journey starts very dark, but Cole helps Angel and does what is necessary to avenge what had been done to her. I just loved them together, they had a different type of courtship, but in my opinion it was beautiful. There wasn't any part of the book I didn't like and especially loved Angel's aunt, Natalie, and all her awesomeness. This book takes place in two parts: when they first meet and get together and the second part which takes place 3 years later; I am so happy it was done this way.
Did Angel and Cole get on my nerves? Of course they did; one was too stubborn and other held onto a big secret; both actions led to big problems.
This book is constant re-read for me and I can't wait to finish off this series.

Those of us who read and love “biker books,” go in, knowing motorcycle clubs are not saints, they sometimes do immoral, illegal and downright reprehensible things.....But, in order for us to read and love books about bikers and motorcycle clubs, we have to set all of that aside, and remember we are reading books, and read about, and enjoy the characters....❤️🌼🔥 Outlaw is about Cole an older MC biker who rescues a younger beautiful girl, Angel, from being sold into white slavery...these two opposites fall in love, but love isn’t always enough, and outside forces cause him to lose her....❤️🌼🔥 As time passes, circumstances force them back together....but there are still outside forces trying to keep them apart....but she needs him now more than ever.....❤️🌼🔥 Cole shows her who he is and if she can depend on him, but can he ever make things right with Angel, or has too much happened?....❤️🌼🔥 This is my first book by, Author, Nicole James, and I loved it..❤️🌼🔥

I liked this book a lot but it was different to what I expected. This is the story of Cole, a gorgeous biker who is in The Evil Dead MC, and the beautiful, young girl , Angel , who he rescues from a life threatening situation. At the start I thought it was going to be your typical badass biker book. And it was. Then the whole tone changed and seemed to be more about the two of them and where their lives took them. It was not all gritty and raw as some biker books are. If you are a fan of 'Seize Me' or 'Undeniable' then this may not tick all the boxes for you as it is more about romance. If , like me, you loved 'Craving Constellations' then it might be more your thing. It surprised me in a good way this book. Was heart wrenching in places and passionately beautiful in others. I would say this is more a romance with a biker / MC theme running through it than a full on biker book. Enjoy.

Book 1 of 9. This series kicks off with Cole and Angel. Right from the word go you're into the nasty. This book and from that I assume the whole series, is hard hitting. There is kidnapping, rape (mentioned not detailed), murder. But also love and fun. Cole and Angel get parted after only a few short weeks by Mack the club Prez and a few lies told. 3 yrs later Angel is back, she really needs to talk to Cole and it can't wait. Based on book 1 this is gonna be a real good series, Nicole James is new to me, I like her style Sue P

Outlaw I loved this book. It is about Cole and Angel. Cole is a VP for The Evil Dead and when he was on a business run he saw a member of the Dead Souls MC Chucky, dragging a woman behind him in handcuffs. Cole had business with Chucky and asked the president to go get him and to bring the woman thatwas being dragged. There was a conversation between the two men. Chucky owed Cole $2000 and he only had $500 so Cole said he would take the woman as insurance. Chuchy said he brought her from a guy in the back of a van. When the men left Cole found out the woman's name is Angel and she is only 21 years old. She tried to fight Cole but he made sure she knew she was safe with him and nothing will happen to her. Cole and Angel become close and Cole also finds out Angel was raped by Chucky. Cole tells Angel that she can't tell anyone what happened to her and they make a deal. If Cole gets the man who took her and Chucky then she keeps her mouth shut. Angel agrees. When Cole goes to meet up with Chucky and the man who took Angel, he goes to the back of the van and sees there are other girls in the back. Members of the Evil dead MC take a girl each and bring them back to the Dead Souls clubhouse to have a talk about them not talking about what happened to them. Cole sends in Angel to talk to them as well. When they are reassured that none of the girls will talk they get taken home and Angel gets her revenge. But the story doesn't end there. Mack, the president of The Evil Dead, wants Angel gone, so he sets it up that will make sure she is gone for good. Then it is 3 years later. Angel turns up at the clubhouse of the Evil Dead to talk to Cole, Cole is a father to her twins and because Cole's daughter has cancer she needs a bone-marrow and it needs to be the father.
What I loved about this book is you meet the other members of the MC and you see how they are with each other. There is humour as well as heartbreak and what's more, it's how it turns out in the end. This story is full of Drama, humour and parts that will make you cry and a shocker. This is a great book that sets the standard you can expect from the rest of the books in the The Evil Dead series of this MC. Absolutely brilliant and I cant wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is that there's more than a bit of unpleasantness in the plot and the Jax character is so macho and sexist that it verged into irritating for me. I'm open minded and like an Alpha male but the "you're my little woman" over protectiveness vibe had me squirming sometimes and not in a good way.
But saying that, I did really enjoy the other 95% of the book and bought the next one in the series (Crash) but the personality traits that annoyed me in this one were even stronger in the next and I've decided it's not for me. However, if you don't mind overpowering machismo this is a great read/series.
