4.0 out of 5 starsNo drama

I accidentally bought this again today and realized afterwards that I'd read it before. It was published before but I can't find that edition for my previous review. Anyway this is a typical Noelle Adams story about friends turned to lovers. It's also quite a short story. The h is a divorce attorney and sworn off relationships because of the disasters she's seen (her parents) and because of the cases she works on. She's been friends with the H for years and agrees to be his date to his chess club reunion. When they arrive to stay with his parents, it's immediately obvious that they'd make a perfect couple. They kiss and the rest is history. Lovely short story with no drama.
It was a nice story. Friends become lovers. But I felt like I was missing something. I couldn't get into as much as I really wanted to. Maybe I should read the first to help me understand the characters better. I would recommend it but I wished it was longer.
Logan and Katie have been best friends for years. Logan has developed stronger feelings for Katie, but is afraid to tell her knowing she does not do relationships. This was a short but sweet friends to lover story. I really enjoyed watching their relationship transform seeing if Katie could work past her hang ups, to find the greatest love possible.

I love Noelle Adams and I have basically every book she’s written. This story was her usual style. I personally prefer other writings by her more, like Holiday Heat or most recently the Falling for Her Brother’s Best Friend series. However, the book was easy and light and it was still a fun read.
Katie Ross who was dealing with a client over a preup over their Divorce settlement. Katie was a well know Divorce Attorney who had won several settlements. Driving home she thought of all troubles with her cases. She became upset as she thought of all the sad times for these couples.
As she arrived at her home she noticed Logan Anderson who had arrived earlier. He moved closer to help her carry her items from work into the house. Entering inside she still spoke to her client, Marla who never gave up. Both Katie and Logan now really needed a break from their work. Katie always knew Logan was there to help her at home if anything went wrong. He was also such gorgeous guy too.
Speaking again to Logan, she pleaded stating that she would never marry. Everything always so cheerful and wonderful, but it never, ever lasts. My one rule in life is to never marry. Katie’s whole dating life had never succeeded. She had a terrible life with pressures, Divorce and even death. She simply wasn’t so happy after all. Logan was her closest friend in the world. She could tell him anything. Logan was a very successful wealthy man. Not a show off. Just the sweetest guy.
Logan had asked Katie to return home and to be his date his School Reunion. Katie knew she could always trust Logan.
I completely adored this wonderful, romantic and most fabulous book. I loved all this most amazing characters throughout. I couldn’t once put it down. I simply loved it! Such a most brilliant book to throughly enjoy. Well done Noelle Adams!!!
If you’ve read Noelle Adams before then you know she is really a special writer. Very few authors manage the understated, natural, awkward yet beautiful romance stories that she does. I adored Logan and Katie’s story., this was so much more than a short but sweet friends to lover story.
Katie was a well known Divorce Attorney who had won several settlements however the troubles, heartache and misery surrounding her cases made her lose faith in love and relationships.
Speaking to her best friend, reluctant billionaire and nice guy Logan, she frequently stated that she would never marry. As Katie’s entire dating life had never succeeded her cynicism made sense.
Logan had asked Katie to return home and to be his date his School Chess club Reunion (yep says it all!). Katie knew she could always trust Logan and enjoyed his company so immediately agreed.
I really enjoyed watching their relationship transform seeing if Katie could work past her hang ups, to find the greatest love. This is a short but very sweet story about friends that become lovers. Amazing job again Noelle. A must read.
