***POSSIBLE SPOLERS***. This had all the elements of a great suspenseful mystery with just enough romance to endear the characters even more and keep you committed to their story. I appreciate how this author makes her characters believable. I just wished she milked the Sebastian/Regan misunderstanding longer. Right when I think Sebastian and Talia’s marriage has all the struggles and ups/down like all real marriages do..Ms. Author ends it. That deliciously fun and exciting misunderstanding was nipped before it got started. Big disappointment. Anyway, Sebastian is busy integrating his Security business with his dad’s Blake industries, getting it established and Talia is feeling a little neglected and insecure with her very pregnant body while staying busy with her book. Mild marital conflict. Anyway, there’s stalkers, mysterious callers, physical attacks, computer hacking, car chases and much more. The investigation continues into who’s threatening Talia and Sebastian’s family and Ms Michelle ties it all up nicely with a wonderful hea. Talia stays true to her independent, strong self, and Sebastian is still the delicious dominant alpha that I love to love. All the loveable secondary characters and the Black Security Team solidify and round out the plot perfectly. I see lots of follow up stories in the future of this Shadow series.
*sigh* I honestly couldn’t wait for the release of this book. I’m an avid reader and HUGE fan of this author. As soon as preorder was posted I bought it...... and waited for release day.
Of course once it released, I was 1/2 way through another book and couldn’t start this one. Then life happened and pushed me starting it even further out. Needless to say I just finished.
I forgot how much I adored Sebastian & Talia. Don’t get me wrong, I knew I loved who they were and their journey but I had forgotten how much my heart feels with these two. How my palms sweat, my heart races and that damn lump sits in my throat. I found myself at work hiding my phone (kindle app) from prying eyes just to read a paragraph or 2 to get me through the day until I could get home, settle in & read forcing my eyes to remain open for just 1 more page.
I also forgot how miserable I feel when I finish it! It’s over.... It’s done..... It’s not just her characters but her style of writing that sinks it’s claws into you never letting up, twisting & turning sucking you deeper and deeper making you feel like your right there in the story, seeing every detail vividly from start to finish.
In The Shadow series always has been and still is one of my favorite book series! I highly recommend this book as well as the 6 before it. Be prepared though for one hell of a ride!!!
So much going on in this book. Talia and Sebastian are so close to having it all. Even though sentences have been handed down in Celeste's and Isabel's murders, there are some things that just don't sit well with Talia. After her Aunt is savagely beaten the investigations by BLACK Security kick into high gear but with frustrating results. The only common denominator in all that has gone on is Talia. Despite Bash's best attempts he always feel Tzlia is in harm's way. After joyously welcoming their child into the world a nightmare event ensues driving both Sebastian and Talia to the brink.
There are several very poignant moments as well as a few very intense moments in this book. I am usually good at figuring out who the bad guys are but this one kept me guessing right up until the reveal.
When I started the series, I was given the opportunity to get Mister Black for free. Once I read it, I was totally hooked. I don't normally get the opportunity to read a series straight through, but this one worked out for me. I totally enjoyed it from start to finish.
Reddest Black is the final chapter for Sebastian and Talia, (sad face). Their magnetism and sexiness continues even with the trials and tribulations. This story was very emotional when a baby gets kidnapped by a deranged person. Your heart goes out to them both. How Sebastian can keep his cool through part of this book is really amazing, especially since he is such a dominate character. Needless to say a happy ever after happens, but not before you really get thrown for a loop.
I would recommend this series of P.T. Michelle's to EVERYONE. One of my top 10. I will forever keep her on my list of one-clicks to read.
The thing I love most about PT Michelle's books, especially the In The Shadows series, is the way all the pieces weave together. And I love how the main character, Talia, is often the one to see those patterns and put those small details together. I love the way Talia's mind works. I would read many books set in her world, especially with Sebastian working at her side. They are an amazing, interesting couple who lead lives I love reading about.
Reddest Black could read as a standalone, but it is really enhanced by reading the entire series. I've loved watching the relationships develop over the course of the novels. In Reddest Black, we see Talia and Sebastian's love put through new tests, as they learn to work together. And as they get ready for the birth of their child. The author is amazing at bringing out all the feels, and putting into words those emotionally epic feelings.
Another great work PT! I love the way the author does her homework and each of these books is so well researched. Take for instance color blindness with the descriptions of just how much impact this can be to an individual psyche. Again love the team of Blake and Blake detective husband and wife. What a combination Talia and Bash make in the office and the bedroom. I wouldn't mind seeing more of these Shadow series books devoted to the dynamic duo. Because our author knows how to write a great mystery story as well with plenty of twists along the way. I love a story that has those unexpected moments and these books are full of them! And we have the little Joceyln to add even more to this fantastic couple. Lets have more PT!
