I could have struggled through the bad grammar and the repetitive phrases.
I could have tolerated the unimaginative story.
But I couldn't get any enjoyment from such unconvincing characters. You barely finished describing the characters to us before you have them behave entirely out of character without persuading us sufficiently of their motivation.
I would like to hope that this author is usually much better than this, and that this one book represents an effort to produce salable content rapidly.
