I read this book in a 48 hour period and cried my way through most of it. The words in this book were so close to my heart because they were so closely aligned with and spoke the truth of my own best friend’s drowning and resurrection. I hesitated to write this review because this felt so deeply personal. But if you’re reading this and still doubting, Joyce Smith is correct. God is exactly who He says He is and fully capable of doing what He says He can do. Amen.

I'm a big fan of autobiographies and taking a step into another person's shoes to get a glimpse of their life experiences. This book was written in a way that I felt like I was a fly on the wall throughout the whole ordeal. From cheering along at a basketball game and white-knuckling it during a car ride to laying down the law with the doctors and seeing John wake up after the accident... I was right along with Joyce page after page.

I followed every twist and turn of this miraculous journey with a full range of emotions. I shed tears, burst out with laughter and more importantly was left with a sense of hope and happiness. I'm thankful they shared this story, which I know will renew/bring faith to those in need during the troubled times we live in.
