2.0 out of 5 starsSupremely disappointed

Don’t really understand all the 5 star reviews on this one. Generally live Ms. March’s work, but this wasn’t her crowning achievement. (loved Take Me Back & the Dirty Billionaire series) The first two books in this series were great but the but the third installment was a total let down. Anti-climactic, felt rushed...a lot of things that should have been explained/detailed more weren’t and the relationship/chemistry seemed to suffer. Everything that we loved about sexy Lachlan in the first books, seemed missing. You’ll probably want to finish the series if you’ve read the other two, but don’t say I didn’t warn you...I would only pick this up if it was on special for .99 cents or on Kindle unlimited.

Meghan March is my go to author. My five star girl....literally everything she writes I love. But...( you knew that was coming, right?) not in this third installment of this trilogy. Book one was off the charts, Book two had me hooked again... but way too short, felt like a novella ( though honestly I'm not sure about the page count...it's not listed) Book three...well..... I thought it was just me... I over anticipated the finale, expected too much. Usually Meghan's books leave me with a mega book hangover, but this book three just left me disappointed. This book was choppy and rushed and played completely against the MC's personalities. Let me start with Keira's new found confidence. It was a quick 180 in her personality with no time to develop ... and she was just bossy and bitchy... all of the sudden I didn't like her. Spoiler alerts ahead: The proposal/wedding was a blip. I realize proposals and weddings are way overdone in the romance novel world...but this book needed it and it needed to be epic...especially the proposal...I wanted to see Mount have a humbling 2 minutes. The meeting of the parents left me flat, the trip to Italy felt thrown in. The whole J thing was out of left field... Magnolia knew Mounts hook ups were disappearing, yet she threw her best friend to him and without her consent???
The Voodoo Kings party at the end made sense but the blurb about them arguing over who was handling the security was just weird. The scene back at square one in her office was a nice touch but again felt rushed. The whole book left me going what happened to the "epic" ? It truly felt like someone else wrote this. I still love Meghan, and I'll still buy her books, but this one left me scratching my head.
2.0 out of 5 starsEnding the series on a weak note.

What a weak ending to a relatively strong series. As always, I'd rather the author wait and publish the book as a whole, but I made an exception, and I shouldn't have. The characters completely collapse in this third installment, even as the plot remains reasonable steady.
5.0 out of 5 stars5 million Mount and Keira Stars!

GAHHHH!!! I swear this trilogy has owned me. Meghan March pretty much stamped a "property of" tattoo on my behind the minute she introduced Lachlan Mount in her Beneath series because this trilogy has been nothing short of phenomenal. I can honestly say this series is the best thing she has written. It is SEXY and shocking af but also emotional and high on the adrenaline rushes and WTF endings. It was fantastic and everything you would want in a novel and the perfect conclusion to their story.
Since spoilers are pretty much nonexistent in my reviews, just know this trilogy can be summed up in short as a journey. The journey of Lachlan Mount and Keira Kilgore and how their story began to how ultimately their lives intertwined and they became who they are to each other.
After the shocking ending of Defiant Queen, Sinful Empire opens up minutes later with Mount and Keira dealing with the immediate ramifications and consequences of what happened. This book was very very high on drama and action but still heavy on not only the HOT chemistry between Mount and Keira but their burgeoning emotional connection. One thing I loved besides their SIZZLING sexy times and hot af banter - the fact that March did not change the true nature and personalities of Mount and Keira at all. They stayed true to themselves throughout the series. Yes, their priorities and emotions might have shifted and changed but at the end of the day Mount is and continues to be the most feared man in New Orleans and Keira is still the woman who is his exception and the only person to bring him to his knees.
I loved this series and my heart hurts in a way because it's over. I wished away my Summer for book one and I'm already wishing away my days until I can get my hands on Temperance's story in Savage Prince. This novel and the series as a whole was one of the best things I have ever read. Bravo! 5 (million) stars!! ~Ratula
I liked the story a lot BUT I didn't like the price. I stopped reading Meghans books because of the trilogy and the price of them (£14 for this trilogy when it could have been 1 book because each book wasn't that long and the last one finished at 86% I feel cheated. Other authors either do 1 book or do a trilogy but only charge a couple of quid max for each book.. if the books were at a reasonable price I would have given it 5 stars and I know it's my choice but I won't read anymore now when there is many authors out there who don't rip you off
4.0 out of 5 starsSome Surprises But Nearly Dying Changes Everything!!😲💘🔥🙏💥

3.5 Stars 🌟 Sinful Empire (Mount Trilogy #3)
Keira & Lachlan reach a new understanding that has far reaching consequences.😉💥 Some they find out about after the fact!😲 This had a couple of surprises I didn't see coming and I really like being caught off guard by an Author.👍
To be clear, I did definitely enjoy this Trilogy👍 I just can't get past the pricing!🙈😲 Because it *wasn't* anything outstanding or new & it lacked a lot of character description. I definitely wouldn't class it up there with the likes of Blair Babylon or Julia Kent & they charge similar prices for much better content & a lot longer duets/trilogies/series!!💔 These books ARE only Novella length. I wouldn't have read book #1 & been hooked by those cliffhanger endings if I'd known the prices & book lengths before hand!!😔 I wish I'd read the reviews & not just downloaded a free read that cost me £9.98 in the end!🙈 #Idiot 😂
What disappointed me the most about the last two books is that the nervousness, fear & tension was completely lacking in them. The storylines failed to capture it in another way like her fear of Mount had in book #1!!😔 If one of those surprises had been utilized throughout as a quiet, deadly & unknown threat that could have worked, possibly?? An opportunity missed I think.😕 The steam factor was a lot lower in this book, there was only a few scenes, one was very hot though.🔥👍🔥 I did really like Keira's growth & them as a true couple!!💘😍
If money is no object to you then this trilogy is 12 hrs of lovely escapism. If it is, I'd honestly go elsewhere.😔 I would read more by this Author if it was in KU or was £0.99-2.99. I feel terrible saying that as this money is their living but when you're struggling yourself you want the most & best quality for your pennies, for me this isn't it. I'm sorry!💔
5.0 out of 5 starsFinal part of the trilogy! OMG so many twists! Really enjoyed it, couldn’t put it down.

Kiera and Lachlan’s relationship grows from strength to strength, once they realise that they both need each other and complete each other. Kiera sees the best in him and he supports her 110%. She finally has the partner she’s always wanted. However, things are never that straight forward when dealing with drugs and the underground world! So so good!
5.0 out of 5 starsHis love for Kiera is undeniably intense
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 21, 2017
Mount. Oh boy what an Alpha male, who doesn’t honestly believe himself to be anything but a monster. How wrong he is. Kiera what a feisty female. Rises to the challenge of becoming a queen. So many twists, turns, characters that you warm to, characters that you can’t believe are so twisted. Characters that are greatly affected by life and yet some are absolutely delusional, and others although not angels are not necessarily the devil incarnate. We join the third book in the trilogy, reflecting on Mounts previous reason for being whom he is today. We get glimpses of his previous life throughout this episode, which makes the reader understand his character more. His love for Kiera is undeniably intense, and hers for him, is without question and compassion. Meghan is a phenomenal author, with a fantastic way with descriptive dialogue, so much so that at times, as the reader you feel as if you are intruding. This trilogy has been invigorating, delightful, tender, terrifying , dark and full of suspense and sub plots. A joy to read. Once started very difficult to put down, until the full climax is achieved. Brilliant, and certainly worth more than 5 stars.
5.0 out of 5 starsAn excellent conclusion to Lachlan & Keira’s journey
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 30, 2020
An excellent conclusion to Lachlan & Keira’s story , after the events at the end of the book 2 you know that soon Lachlan will be reigning his type of violent retribution on who has caused it ...... We also get more about the hard life Lachlan had growing up and when he literally ran into the Mr Morello the local mob boss in New Orleans whilst being perused by a shop owner and the police . Realising that Lachlan was only about 16 years old Morello took him under his wing over time Lachlan worked his way up the ladder within the mob . As the story unfolds Keira and Lachlan get closer and we begin to see the person behind the violent man that is Lachlan . Although he’s acquired Keira to be just a possession they’re slowly getting closer and he’s seeing her more as an equal and the inevitable happens so he also does the one thing that he thinks will keep her safe . With lots of twists turns and revelations it all leads to an OMG moment but the ending is perfect ❤️❤️ ....... with the chance to download a little “meet the parents” epilogue which rounds the story off nicely 😉.
