5.0 out of 5 stars The unknown strength of women

I like the suspense of waiting to read the next chapter and learn more on each character. This book shows how women fight on a daily basis to reach a better world for them and their loved ones. I would recommend this book to all women. I chose this rating because the writer kept me wanting to read more. That comes only from a successful writer. I will read it again concentrating more on the French words that were new to me. There was plenty of new vocabulary. I did some work in researching the meaning, so as to enrich my knowledge of the French language. Loved the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars An easy book to read but difficult to put down

I enjoyed this book very much, there're three independent stories of three different women in three different countries with three different social environments. At the end of the book you understand why the tittle "la tresse" (the braid) and in a braid, there are three different strands of hair that make a whole.

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging story of 3 women

As an intermediate student of French, this book was a perfect fit and just the right level of difficulty. It is the story of 3 women, one from India, one from Sicily, and one from Montreal whose lives intersect in a surprising way. Their stories of personal challenge are told in alternating chapters. I couldn't wait to get to the next chapter and was sorry when it was over.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful

Beautifully written, albeit simple, three stories of three different women from three different worlds (definetly a book for women, men won't find themselves in here). Touching and easy to read (not too long, too). Really, a wonderful story for women of any age in our world.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Simplistic Story

I did not enjoy either the style or the plot of this book. It was overly dramatic and the characters did not have much depth. There was a great deal of the author telling the reader about everything and little dialogue or interaction with other characters. It read more like a screenplay than like a novel.

Trois femmes, trois vies, trois continents.

Alors ..

5.0 out of 5 stars Un bon livre

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book to practice French

I liked the book, although I found Sarah's chapters incredibly annoying. The style of writing is so repetitive! My favourite was Samita and Giulia was OK. Bought it mainly to practice my French. The language is simple and the grammatical construction very straight forward. You won't find great metaphors here.

Very good book for a non-native French person. In the end all goes well like in a Hollywood movie but that's nice.
